According to Director Charlie Russell and Producer Ken Engleman, Everyone on the Set of the Mask treated Jim Carrey like Royalty as they had a hunch that he was about to Explode and become a Comedic Icon. Russell was mesmerized by Carrey's Loyalty to the Wayans family and personally thanked Keenan for casting him on ILC. They ALL loved him and were unbelievably kind. So Much Camaraderie on the Set(Peter Greene aka Dorian introduced Carrey to Ben Stiller and helped Cable Guy get made), Greene was also very generous to YOUNG unknown Cameron Diaz and he and Amy Yasbek Ritter actually coached and tutored her alot on the set. Mrs. Ritter even baked over 4 dozen Snickerdoodle Cookies for everyone including the extras,EVERYONE believed in the film. They and New Line felt like they had a Commercial Hit waiting in the Wings and Richard Jeni kept endorsing and pushing Carrey to as many Large L.A. Comedy Clubs and Organizations as he could.(Carrey attended Jeni's 2007 private Funeral). Fun Fact: The Signing She Cop is actually a Local Groundlings member and Cabaret Singer named Krista Buonaro. Krista had a bring fling with Carrey during the Mask's production in October 1993- March 1994 as Carrey didn't met or date and briefly Marry Lauren Holly until Dumb and Dumber was filmed During the Mid Spring of 1994.

If a movie has a good script and a good team, it's worth it to take a lower price than a movie with a worse script and worse team because of the opportunities it will afford you in the future. Working just for "exposure" is never a good idea (especially when the quality of the work is not up to snuff), but prioritizing quality roles over bigger paychecks is the best way to grow your brand.
