@@mqosuThere was no way HBK wasn't gonna carry that match. Austin 1:1-3 "We don’t really talk about the wackiness of the post-Attitude-era Vince McMahon storylines, but we all know who carried the tag team match when the god-complex-incarnate challenged the god of his predominantly Christian audience. Sean Michaels doesn’t show up to a match without his show-stealing capabilities showing through. But this is a book not for would-be bookers to declare Vince the winner in the promos who lost the match to God, rather, it is a promo cut in everyday English to bring marks into a new show in town."

That's a good question but I think the answer may be somewhat simple. Vince simply doesn't think of himself and the way he is as anything particularly interesting. From all accounts, it seems like Vince doesn't have much exposure to common widespread culture. He doesn't watch TV much, doesn't follow contemporary music trends much, and is basically 100% focused on his business, for better or worse. So this results in a perspective where what he thinks is interesting (his infamous "That's good shit!" thing where he says that in approval of things greenlit for WWE product) is kind of weird and out of touch with the tastes of many people out there. It's kind of like how people like Dean Malenko and Lance Storm in shoot interviews actually come off as witty characters whereas their in-ring personas were as dry as Melba Toast. Truth can be stranger than fiction.

HHH told the pool story on the McMahon DVD set, and he added that Vince’s kids got what he has, which is that he will try and try to beat you, and when he finally does, he will rub it in your face until you snap. HHH also said that Vince tried to beat him at weight lifting, even on exercises where they both knew HHH was stronger, so the Mark Henry story is one I find easy to believe.

Bret Hart told the story of Vince at a strip club. It was also with Hogan, and Mr. Perfect. The Legion of Doom did their finish on Vince, but gave him a soft finish. Anvil told Bret that the heart foundation would of done a hard finish at 100%. Bret tried to get away to avoid doing the finish, but Anvil had already gotten Vince up on his shoulders and so Bret did the finisher off the table. Vince took it and told Bret that he owed Vince a beer.

The turban story @ 12:50 cracks me up. I actually heard someone tell that story who wasn't even associated with the wrestling community. It was late comic Patrice O'Neal (RIP) who spoke about it in an interview on the Opie and Anthony radio show. Patrice worked as a writer for WWE for literally a few days before he quit when he realized that you have to travel 24/7 lol. He said it was surreal to watch Singh plead to leave the turban out of the equation, and that Vince just replied "You're gonna put on the F'ing turban" LMAO By pure chance, The Rock had to call into the Opie and Anthony show that day to promote whatever movie he had come out with at the time, and the Rock laughed and mentioned that same story when highlighting what a crazy world wrestling is behind the scenes lol.
