Some of their people can't even run the ropes correctly. Ridiculously short mincing steps with no confidence, hitting the ropes like they're made out of dental floss, and they come back almost slower than they ran into them. The clips of them punching their own upper arms or the ring mat, half a foot away from any body part of the "victims of their brutal beatings" are hilarious, though. The fact that AEW's production crew ALWAYS, without fail, picks the worst possible camera angles for the hand-helds and outright refuses to cut away from things that look like garbage FOREVER, really doesn't help either. Meanwhile, Tony Khan't brags about his "million-dollar production every week" on social media. I guess hiring Stevie Wonder as the director for his TV show _was_ expensive...

Yeah they can do backflips and cartwheels but they can't apply a simple headlock or armbar. Most of their talent needs to spend 2 or 3 years in a bush league territory learning the ropes.

That's so true! I watched the show last week for the first time in awhile and I noticed exactly that. They had a dude throw 30 seconds of elbows into a guy on the floor until he went unconscious to end the match but the elbow all looked AWFUL and the dude sold by moving his head up and down.

I've said this several times on Twitter but the problem with these wrestlers, especially AEW, is that they don't wrestle smarter but harder. When being presented on national TV on a constant basis, especially during a push, it's dumb to take unnecessary risks to mess up your status and placement on the card.
@rl318
@rl318 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah how many people are out with unspecified injuries right now and how much do people disappear for weeks on end ? What makes it worse is that they allow talent up and down the card to go work other promotions where they probably do similar dumb spots where they get dinged up and can't work their AEW shows. That is why the promotion is really just a well funded indie company that lucked into a television deal.

This right here. Notice how Randy Orton is over without having to do much in the ring. That should be the goal. We are seeing a lot more severe injuries with people wrestling way less. I was shocked to see a supposed "wrestler" so out of shape that he just fell off the apron, all by himself, from sheer exhaustion. The guy has the cardio of somebody who needs half a dozen hits from an oxygen tank and IV saline after walking up three flights of stairs. It's beyond absurd to put somebody like that on television. Wrestlers are supposed to portray athletes in a combat sport - he would die after the first round of a boxing or MMA match. Literally, not figuratively! I give Card Boardico crap for the ridiculous shape he's in all the time, but Luther makes even him look like he could run a marathon in comparison. He's already completely blown up from climbing into the ring before the match begins. Does Florida have an athletic commission that covers wrestling or have they deregulated that away too, along with every other last remnant of common sense they ever had?

I believe that one was totally justified. You can't post unedited (by you) video footage of entire AEW shows on your monetised channel, just with your "funny" audio commentary dubbed over it. That's not fair use. It's not a "transformative effort" as defined by the law. If I'm not mistaken, that's what she did - and if she did, than she got rightfully slapped down for it. It's like posting "Apocalypse Now" in full length on your KZbin channel, just with the original audio turned down and you talking over the movie. That wouldn't last an hour either before you got a strike. Jim and Brian put up their watchalongs as audio tracks only for that very reason. You have to find the original video, run it in a different tab on your browser, and sync up the commentary and video yourself. That way the owner of the video gets their click (and money) as well as the producers of the audio commentary track. That's how the MST3K folks or Red Letter Media do it with their full-length commentary tracks for movies that aren't public domain, too. OSW Reviews on the other hand edit the video footage down, don't show entire matches, let alone entire PPVs, and put their own quizzes, animated sequences, etc. between the WWE, WCW, ECW, or TNA footage. They make videos _about_ the old PPVs, they don't just talk over the actual shows.

Nyla Rose almost ended two careers in one match the other night. Who in the hell thought it was a good idea for her to knee Britt in the back of the head coming off the top rope? Britt hanging the way she was on the ropes only meant Nyla had to make some contact just to make the move believable, and wound up making full contact. Such an ill advised move. From an ill advised wrestler. And actually, it turned out it was Britts tag team partner that ends up with a career changing injury. Plot twist. Or Botch Twist*

I swear AEW should had just been an online thing where they maybe stream some matches on KZbin like they do with AEW Dark but explain that these are mostly wrestlers in training and none of it should be taken as professional since these people are learning to be that. Maybe once a month have some PPV show where the ones who look ready have their shot at a title and some cut promos to set up their matches. Give people a taste of let's say what MJF is and have them wanting more. Have Jericho or The Big show tease this upcoming young talent who has a PPV match with maybe one of the veterans and gets over. This honestly should have been a show for these young starts but the only ones who seem to be over are Jericho, Omega, The Bucks, Cody (though I think he is losing it now since his promos upset everyone both fans and non fans), Miro, and Moxley. all of whom are either veterans or were already over in the WWE. I guess you could argue Jericho is trying to put his guys over but I swear it's hard to even see why those guys are in this show. They just don't stand out. They look like every other guy that is just behind someone else. With the NWO you had Hogan who was the more known fallen hero, Scott Hall who was the big cool guy, and Kevin Nash was this giant of a monster and had the long blonde hair. It was easy to tell them apart. I feel like the problem again falls into the Bucks putting everyone in a team rather then having them established as singles people before. Hell as stupid as McMahon is with some of the gimmicks he puts on wrestlers, he at least tries to make them unique that you wonder who the hell this person is.
