Stephen P New is someone I lost alot of respect for too. Hanging out with the Bucks and Olivier will rot your brain and Jericho is prime example of this, however same can be said about CM Punk who was basically 2010's version of Twinkeltoes: An overrated oversensitive egotistocal moron who went on top when the business was at the time historically low. Only difference is now's Raw gets lower ratings than that era's TNA Impact. When it comes to Omega: Cornette called it 100%. When it comes to Punk, Kevin Nash called it 100%.
@juicyeboi9006 Жыл бұрын
@Assenayo you could make the exact same claim for CM Punk to Kevin Nash as champion funnily enough. I'm not personally a punk fan but he = ratings higher than almost any wrestler alive. The fact the business viewership both decreased overall + ratings being a less pivotal factor isn't proof Punk is overrated or sucks. It means wrestling isn't hot anymore. Omega also is a draw even if to a lower degree/smaller demographic. The Bucks were as well between 2016-2020, they're cold as freezer burnt meat nowadays
@MoxyOh Жыл бұрын
@@Assenayo leaving your assessment of Punk and Omega aside, what does that have to do with losing respect for the lawyer? Lol
@Assenayo Жыл бұрын
@@juicyeboi9006 higher than almost any wrestler alive? Should I remind you that Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Steve Austin and The Rock are all sitll alive? When Punk was on top he wasn't a needle mover, and I dont see any evidence of that now in WWE, only in AEW (the minor leauges) was he any sort of needle mover. That's like saying Kurt Angle was the highest ratings of any wrestler alive when he was in TNA (and lets not forget, TNA then got bigger ratings than Raw now). Nash indeed was an absolute failure as a top guy, takes one to know one, doesn't make him wrong. If Punk was any good the downturn would have at least slowed if not turned around, if Punk was really as good as he thought he was, wrestling could have gotten hot off his back, wrestling had by that point been down for almost a decade and now its been over 20 years. Things are turning around but ratings are still a shadow of the Cena years let alone anything resembling anything hot. And lets not forget Punk was a ratings bump, he didn't make AEW hot, which is the difference between a genuine top tier talent and "a guy with a name". As for the Bucks, I have to dispute that: I have been watching New Japan when I first heard about New Japan World and Kevin Kelly was commenting (AJ was Champion when I first started watching) and the Bucks were never prominent. They were opening card guys, mainstays of the Junior Heavyweight Tag Team division (I still question something like that warrents a division). They had a short run in the Heavyweight division during their final year at a time the tag team division was built around LIJ (Evil & Sanada) They were over with the American/ROH audience but in Japan they were never a big deal. Kenny became a big deal but the Bucks? No.

@zhougongjin2704 Жыл бұрын
The double standards were confirmed during the Elite's entrance at the Chicago Dynamite after Brawl Out. Go to a replay of that episode, and watch the Elite's entrance and also right before and right after it. Suddenly shortly before it the commentator volume became super loud, and during the entrance you could barely hear the crowd and music (so the sound outside of the commentators was muted too), then after the entrance the sound went back to normal. The sound changes were clear as day. Kahn wanted to censor any possible CM Punk chants. During the entrance on tv the crowd just sounded quiet and muffled, but if you watch videos on yt of it posted by people who were there live, during some of it there were pretty dang loud CM Punk chants. So Kahn censored them and tried to make it seem like the fans weren't behind Punk or weren't as behind him as they actually were. Basically he tried to manipulate the narrative against Punk
@zhougongjin2704 Жыл бұрын
I commented that those chants were muted on a wrestlinginc article 3 separate times, but my comment got banned all 3 times, and also I commented that on a video on AEW's yt page and my comment got filtered out. I think on the AEW video that was yt's automatic censoring algoritim that did that though not AEW, because I tried multiple times deleting the comment and re-phrasing it and commenting that and my comments kept getting filtered out right after, after about the same amount of time each time, as if an algorthim was doing it, but on wrestling inc it was definitely a site admin and not an algorithim because the time it took for my comment to get deleted each of the 3 times was different. So if anyone else noticed the chants getting censored and commented about it on wrestlinginc, they probably deleted their comments too

The Undertaker cemented his status as one of the GOATs during the late stages of his career imo. Don't get me wrong he was already a WWE legend who spanned 4 WWE eras, but when he couldn't hang anymore, it wasn't Taker that wanted him to keep having the big match at Mania, it was the company. Having that match with Taker was a big deal and he put 2 people over. That's how you do it. Don't outlive your welcome and give back to the young guys.

@@walsh9080 🤨What are we talking about here? 1. Taker very much overstayed his welcome. 2. Giving back to younger guys would’ve been giving the streak to a guy that could’ve used it, not Brock. 3. Again, what are we talking about?

@jdh9219 Жыл бұрын
Not really. The insanity part is Tony making one of the buckaroos wives the head of merchandise, That’s nepotism. Letting Brandon cutlet have a job wrestling on TV just because he grew up with the young bucks, that’s nepotism. Basically if you’re a “top guy” and/or friends with Tony, he will give jobs to your family or friends. It would be one thing if the friends or family were actually qualified but they aren’t. The wife of Matty or Nicky was made the head of selling merch and her only experience was selling their tee shirts from a pop up table at their little Indy shows attended by 100 people. That’s true nepotism and it’s also just one of many reasons the company is a joke that doesn’t have a goal of making money and being real competition to the WWE. The company is a vanity project so the fanboy son of a billionaire can use his daddy’s money to buy life size action figures and pretend to be a real booker, writer, and promoter. Cokey Khan actually made the statements before that fantasy booking on metlzers site back in the day was a good way to “get his reps in and prepare for real tv booking”, he also said that “even though I was only writing for an audience of 3, it really helped me get a feel for if what I was writing for certain characters was getting over with the fans”. WTF are you talking about Tony?! How did fantasy booking with two other nerds on a message board help you “get reps in preparing you for writing real tv”?! How the fuck did you “get a feel for your fans” about your character’s popularity, when you didn’t have any fans?! 😂🤔🧐 The guy is beyond delusional. He’s a terrible writer, a terrible booker, terrible at managing talent, terrible at formatting a TV show, and just overall TERRIBLE at running a wrestling promotion. From root to the fruit, he’s a delusional joke.
