Dave is constantly just looking for his "gotcha!" moment, the moment where something so unreal and unbelievable happens to justify his endless glazing of AEW. Like he's dreaming of Warner Bros making AEW a billion dollar deal or something. If he's claiming that he doesn't make a personal effort to push AEW, he's just flat out lying.

What is aew gonna do once Dave inevitably loses ALL his credibility.....what would be their point of putting on "5 star matches" when everyone no longer cares about the one giving the rating?
@savagereaper62915 ай бұрын
Lol. What makes you think he has credibility now outside of the "sIcKoS" who actually listen to him?
@Parallelocam5 ай бұрын
Have you seen AEW's ratings these past 2 months? Nobody cares about hot matches or who rates matches. Brian put it best in a recent clip - they've burned people for years and now they're paying the price for it and it's too late to win most of them back over. They thought they were untouchable. Dave thought they were untouchable. Dave thought HE was untouchable. The world rapidly moved past all of them when enough was enough (around the time Punk quit)

By hook or by crook, being wrong is pretty much his brand - as long as he rah-rah's the flippy fans' favorites he's going to keep getting that recurring subscription money. That is to say: he's a huckster.

This is how Dave has always been. He's always gotten obviously stupid things wrong. Back in the day the boys would work him and he'd print it as fact. Go read old observers and the batshit crazy things he'd post. He's an 8th grader writing book reports about wrestling TV shows.

@hiddensword93875 ай бұрын
Did Dave actually tell the truth years ago or did he just say things Jim liked to hear? Dave was one of the guys giving the Midnight high star ratings in his magazine and Jim was boasting about it in the locker room (as he's admitted) Lots of guys like Bischoff have talked about the lies Dave posted back in the day but people like Jim believed it because he was anti Bischoff due to Eric shelving a lot of older guys Jim looked up to. I can see this being the case as Jim is notoriously petty when it comes to disagreements.

There was a radio show up here in Toronto for years which Dave started along w/ a guy named Jeff Marek, called LAW - Live Audio Wrestling, that is now online and morphed a few years back into SNME - Sunday Night's Main Event. They give the top of the 2nd hour, at least 15 minutes worth, to Dave and the hosts just fawn over him, take everything he says as sacrosanct and gospel, never question him, especially former co-host Dan Lovranski, who always came across like he had some sort of man-crush on Dave. Yet no one questions the validity or credibility of this show for whatever reason.

Why is Brian still telling himself the lie that ppl(Bruce Prichard) beef’d with Meltzer as a business practice? Bruce has ALWAYS said Meltzer uses conjecture and formulates his “observations” off hear-say and guessing,no actual knowledge of the inner workings of the business. Which is most evident now.
@michaelgorran49495 ай бұрын
Cause Bruce is a peace of shit and a conman, who hated it, when people called the WWF/WWE out. Unfortunately Dave turned the wrong way a few years ago and has become a former shell of his own self.
@danieldutot88475 ай бұрын
I can't believe I'm defending Bruce but I always think of his interview with Jim and Brian where Brian is defending Dave as a legit journalist while Bruce points out that Dave is like Page 6 with his only having one 'source' and not getting his facts independently verified from separate sources
@KClouisville5 ай бұрын
Yeah, that's just Brian either not liking the people he's referring to (Bruce and maybe Bischoff) or not wanting to admit how much of a mark he was for Dave for years. Listen to the old 605 Superpodcasts.....Brian would put over Dave all the time. It took Dave's issues with Jim and subsequently the CM Punk in AEW stuff for Brian to finally start calling out Dave. Even after Dave fell out with Jim, Brian, when he was in his super anti-WWE mode a few years back, would tout Observer stories when they portrayed WWE in a negative light. It was super obvious.

Why are you concerned with the mental health of a man who has leeched off of companies he's not been a part of, for his entire life Why feel bad for the guy who has given up on journalistic etiquette and publishes fabrications How do you think Roman felt when he had to read Dave saying his father was dead, before he died, and before the family could even announce it if he did die

@Parallelocam5 ай бұрын
It's never been in this much abundance though in short time periods. It's very clear that sometime last year or year before his major source left WWE, and it comes off like he somewhat recently lost his main AEW sources too. When was the last time you saw Meltzer make the front page of Squared Circle? Sean Ross Sapp does all the time. Meltzer doesn't break news anymore, that alone should be a sign that things have changed rapidly and that this isn't the same Dave from even 2 years ago. He used to get a lot more right, nowdays he isn't the go to guy for ANYTHING
@mikemitchell58675 ай бұрын
Getting stories wrong or having wrong opinions is the Meltzer brand.
