There are multiple reasons why Matt is in this phase. Trying to step out of his brother's shadow. Having to find a voice while working in the post-Dixie TNA/Impact. His wife possibly being more controlling over his situation. Signing his soul to a money mark to do whatever. Maybe he's operating under a non-disclosure contract. There will come a point where Matt will look back at all of this. When he sees his career become a total joke, he'll wonder if it was worth it. Was it worth pissing away his integrity just for a little more money? Having to swallow one's pride for a few more seconds of fame? And these questions could apply to any of the veterans working in AEW as well. Except for Jeri-Covid. That pudgy bitch is a lost cause.

Also, there may be another reason that Matt Hardy is acting this way: He could be suffering the same midlife crisis that Chris Jericho is going through. Maybe he (and possibly some of the other veterans, including Chris Jericho) can't help but go along with everything going on in AEW, likely because he doesn't want either his fellow wrestlers or the marks to think he's just another out-of-touch boomer complaining about the modern times.

I don't have twitter so my first exposure to this scuffle was from a wrestling article. The title said "wwe veteran and matt hardy argue" or something to that effect. If you dont think the description of Jim Cornette as "wwe veteran" is completely intentional, you're naive. AEW fanboys cant help but make it a battle between them and WWE, and anyone who disagrees with AEW is somehow a WWE employee or affiliated with them or likes them. AEW calls criticism against them "negativity" and the people who do it are "haters." They try to delegitimize the person criticizing them to invalidate their opinions. It's what politicians do all the time. Jim isn't doing "shock jock" stuff. He's giving you his honest critique about what he thinks of your show, Matt. JC is just being straight and honest only wanting what's best for pro wrestling, i watch all the shows and it's just a waste. 1. Lack of consistency 2. Shows sucks 3. Pro wrestlers got soft and can't take criticism 4. Everyone claims to be a Top guy 5. Different storylines and feuds every week 6.
