I watch AEW every week and really enjoy Cornette's podcast. He makes a lot of good points, i.e. AEW does some stupid shit at times, but if you take him too seriously then you'd think he's the only opinion in wrestling that counts, which is quite simply not true. There are parts of AEW that are right up his street, usually Cody's segments, but, given it is a buffet presentation of all kinds of wrestling they present, he ultimately comes across as quite narrow minded, e.g. Omega and the Bucks are undeniably some of the greatest performers in the business, but he always talking about them like they're amateurs.

Here's why AEW guys get more offended by what Cornette says than WWE guys: AEW guys have a lot more "creative freedom", so they get to do all the dumb ideas that pop into their heads and THEY think that they're geniuses. When Matt left WWE, it was under the idea that he was being constrained creatively and still wanted to wrestle here and there even as he’s gotten older and that was what Vince had in mind. Matt Hardy hasnt been Matt Hardy since The Hardy Boyz days! It all started to go downhill around the early 2000s when he did the V.1 character, and he hasnt found himself yet. I think at best he shouldve stuck with the V.1 version of himself but changed the name. He shouldve been another high flying compliment to Jeffs singles run but instead, basically became this day in ages V.2 of Marty Janetty. I know its too late for me to take another character he does seriously anymore, even when hes doin his best to be himself now....finally....again...i think🤔🤣. All i know if you decide to go into tag team wrestling and your a brunette and your partner is blonde....wrestling history says the rest!🤣

I think part of the problem with matt is he hasn't gotten to the level he wished he would. I believe this is why he does what he does now if he cant be the top guy in a major organization he's happy to be a top guy in nothing. Jeff was always considered the artist and now matt can claim it's his art.

There's a subreddit that mocks what the wrestling reddit says a lot and someone sent them a death threat for the grave offense of making fun of how dumb or gullible wrestling fans are. Between a lack of wrestling (or even sports entertainment) the show provides the casual viewer and a cult-like mentality where everything about AEW is good and can't be criticized unless it's constructive, their fanbase doesn't have a leg to stand on here. Edit: Also Reby on Twitter is incredibly obnoxious, you should have seen her go off on Impact when they tried to claim rights to the "broken universe". Which, in hindsight, I really wish they kept so Matt couldn't fall back on this to get himself over while Jeff's doing fairly well for himself in the other company.
