There is no storylines regarding AEW besides boring matches and what match can be the botch of the night. I'm an AEW fan due to via local promotion and this is what Jags fans have to deal with. No wondering why they are never a Super Bowl threat except for one year. They aren't even a threat for a playoff spot. At least my Dirty Birds were playoff threats of being the first Wild Card team with a below .500 record back in 2018 and 2019.

I was so excited for AEW to start up. I saw that first PPV where Dustin and Cody put on the match of the year, in my opinion. After that, I thought the TV show would be excellent. But it's absolutely awful and embarrassing. The VPs are destroying promising, young talent.

AEW really could have done a new, better revival of WCW, the way TNA tried and at times succeeded in doing. There are also luchadors on AEW that are known to millions of lucha fans (eg Pentagon, Fenix, even Andrade), so they could be building up a new lucha show / promotion around those guys. But instead we get the same "Elite" fights over and over again.

It has to be outdoors. The only way it would even look good is if the ring is rigged to completely collapse. To do that there needs to be charges on the cables underneath so when the explosions go off, the cables underneath are blasted away. And have a huge fireball(reasonable size so the fans don't get hurt) shooting out from the Apron and maybe thru the canvas.

That said they have a better variety of match types and actually acknowledge the differences in what certain wrestlers can and cannot do well. That is one of my biggest problems with AEW. The refs are just there to count to 3. They have no authority,no agency in the matches and it makes everything look way too fake. Rick Knox is the biggest culprit. Aubrey and Bryce are alright, but they could be a lot better, and if they did, it would make a lot of their shit look a bit better.
