You can see examples of the old tag matches where both members had to be pinned in the Russ Davis 1950s Chicago footage. Almost always the second partner would be pinning moments after the first. The Zaharias Brothers vs Rudy Kay and "Old Signboard" Sailor Al Williams. (One of my favorite teams from that era) was one example.) Rocky Valentine was an early name for Johnny.

@@joegreene7619 He booked for the WWF. More than that, but do I need to bring up anything else when you're talking about why Cornette shouldn't have a job with WWE based on his supposed failures? But let's say he really sunk everything he booked for, this was hypothetical talent relations, which has nothing to do with booking, which Cornette has been undisputed successful for WWE in particular. Now I know Jim wouldn't want the job and WWE wouldn't give it to him, but your argument makes no sense.
@insupportofjunhado2 жыл бұрын
@@joegreene7619 Talent relations isn't booking, so your opinion on his booking shouldn't even be relevant. But OVW did make money, more after Jim Cornette and less after Jim Cornette. Fine, it wasn't big money, but only 30% of that was from WWE. If that doesn't change your opinion on Cornette as a booker, fine. Dutch Mantel is a better booker than Cornette and WWE's had him for years not doing it. But OVW made WWE a lot more money than vise versa via talent. Not just talent developed after introduction to professional wrestling but talent polished like Mark Henry. Jim Cornette, Jim Ross, Dr. Tom, Danny Davis and Rip Rogers could all do well for talent relations, but WWE wants John Laurinaitis, who is famous for...? ...having Bill Demott film naked wrestlers stink facing each other for him? Hiring Gail Kim to have bra and panties matches with Dawn Marie on house shows? Threatening to fire Stevie Richards because their voices sounded similar? Firing Dawn Marie for gaining too much weight while pregnant? Calling up Mark Jindrak before anyone said he was ready? No selling the WWE Champion's finishing move? Losing WWE OVW in the first place, necessitating the revival of FCW with ACW resources? Ending WWE's deal with ACW after an employee from the latter company threatened to beat his ass(necessitating nXt)? Paying to fly in and feed the Briscoes only to terminate them for being too ugly? Hiring the wrong one legged professional wrestler when only two operated in the United States? Picking Kelly Kelly and Alicia Fox out of the swimsuit magazine? Allowing the former on the road and leaving her on it after she was filmed pissing in a kitchen sink while inebriated? Sure, Johnny Ace had a great memory for finishes, a great tag team career in All Japan, and no WWE would not give a talent relations job to Cornette. But a temporary position would be far from the worst decision they have made. With the exception of Matt Morgan, most of the talent Cornette likes are respected by wrestling fans, at least until they get gimmicks like The Spirit Squad or prove hopelessly criminal like Sytch. Most of the people he pulls for have drawn money.

Not sure why Jim cares so passionately about the hand being the only tagable part of a wrestler's body.. The NHL use to have 2 line passes but that rule was latter dropped. Sports leagues do that all the time, they modify some of their rules that doesn't mean the essence of the discipline is not the same. I like the knew can tag multiple part of your partner body because it allows booker to potentially write more interesting storylines.Like when a team isn't getting along and they slap each other. I guess I am not as much of a traditionalist as Mr. Cornette.
