@@amg2382 The biggest problem is that it became a rabbit hole in the first place. It's like Tony was so excited at the idea of booking an invasion angle that he didn't actually book anything. Everything about this has been slap-dashed together, and makes zero sense at all. It's an invasion, but the two presidents are shaking hands on stage... and then they get interrupted by their own employees, who are working together.... and then then people who end up invading are people nobody has been introduced to at all, with zero explanation other than the fact that this show is happening. It's utter nonsense top to bottom. Tony has no clue what he is doing, which is why the only people who can put on any sort of decent TV are people who actually treat pro-wrestling like a profession. The rest of the guys love calling themselves wrestlers, but they forget about the whole "pro" part. ...But don't dare say that to any of them or risk being labeled a "hater" 😂

Yeah it really really did. You ain't wrong at all. I used to be invested and cared about the characters. Aew made me feel again. Made me scream at the TV, which I haven't done since the early 00s wwe. It's crazy how just taking out a few ppl just utterly destroyed the whole show. There are bright spots like wardlow and ftr but other then that I'm just as bored as when I watch raw. Its sad. So much wasted potential.

The New Japan guys were like sure Tony, because they know they are keeping their titles and looking strong in the process. This ranks up there with the wwf invasion angle. But this wasn't an invasion angle so this may be worse. Maybe next time Tony can have some help to get shit right. This could've been done a lot better and more believable.

Ortiz and Santana if I remember correctly on AEW didn't start the face paint until the war games match. After that they have been doing it for basically every match. I remember Brian saying the face paint looked cool, but now it's overdone instead of doing it every so often.

You know I grew up watching wrestling in the early 90's. So this type of story line was all I knew. But after being an avid fan of jim cornette here on KZbin I starting watching the old stuff started with smokey mountain wrestling and then I just watched now a match from Mid-Atlantic wrestling in 1983, 3 years before i was born where Harley race fought ric flair. At the time ric flair had a 25000 dollar bounty on his head. It was an amazing match. At the end there was a run in where Bob Orton Jr and Dic slater. Then Roddy Piper and Cheif Daniels came to his aid after a spike piledrive. THIS IS WRESTLING. GREAT MATCH. It managed to continue the story line and I wish I could find the next weeks episode bc I just liked it that much. Then the comentenator broke it down for u incase there was any new people watching "like me" I wish wrestling was like this still. Anyway thank u Jim for sharing stories about the older days bc it has revitalized my love of wrestling and I plan to watch all the old stuff I can on WWE network. Again thanks Jim 😊

Tanahashi and Moxley awkwardly standing face to face for that long was brutally bad ..it was bad after 30 seconds..4 minutes later they are still standing there awkwardly trying to look mean waiting for the schmoz to finish and to go of air ...So far I've bought every aew ppv but after that I think I will give this one a miss...even okada looked the shits hangman page missed his spot and left okada ..well hanging ..I guess that's why he's called hangman coz he buries people by missing spots and leaving them hanging ..okada had to wait an eternity for page to realise it was his cue to go to the turnbuckle with Cole so okada can do the same with white but okada gets white in the corner and turns and has to wait for page who is still layed on the mat who then realises and jumps up from selling and throws Cole who is also just stalling into the turnbuckle..it was brutal and then mox and tanahashi go to the extreme of cringe 😬

I don’t know what Jim’s aversion to other styles of wrestling is about. Everyone has their favourites, but to say that one is more believable than another is ridiculous. If he’s looking for believability, New Japan is a lot more believable than anything in the US right now. And AEW as inconsistent and bad as it is without Danielson, Punk and MJF, is it really any worse than live action Disney in spandex? We’ve had 20 years of WWE and it’s awful with the exception of the obvious. After that nonsense, I would think even the odd AEW segment that doesn’t completely suck is better than nothing.

Correction, nothing is better than the terrible product both aew and wwe put on. Comparing one to the other doesn’t make it better than the other. They are both crap at their worse which is 98% of the time. Also NJPW has gotten ridiculously unbelievable. Too many supposedly devastating moves that don’t put anyone away isn’t believable at all, and their forearm trades are so softly horribly. Also they no sell at all in the middle of their matches by which point they’ve supposedly beaten the crap out of one another, so not at all believable at all bud. And they always go over 20-30 minutes, what is so believable about that?🤣
