@Cruising_On_Lake_Havasoma4 ай бұрын
I just wonder how wrestlers outside of AEW see the company. I think it says a lot that Kevin Owens didn't leave, and if you think about it why would he? Supposedly TK offered Nakamura a shitload of money and he didn't even really consider the offer. Dolph Ziggler went to TNA. This problem with the lack of talent in Jacksonville isn't going to get better any time soon, and Tony Yayo is running out of companies to strip mine for wrestlers or just buy out. Call me biased if you want (because I am), but that doesn't make it any less true.

It's amazing how badly AEW has bungled things. At their peak, they were competing against a WWE making some of the worst tv it had ever made. 2019 WWE was legitimately abysmal. A bloated television program, bogged down by Vince making some of the dumbest booking decisions of his life, seemingly out of pure stubbournness and resentment of the crowd. Then 20, 21 and 22 weren't all that much better. WWE was vulnerable. As vulnerable as it had ever been to a major, competition program with money behind it. Tony had it made. What did he do? Well he let his evps run Cody Rhodes and CM Punk off to the WWE. That's what he did. And then he went all in on those evps that no one outside the bubble likes and then he tripled down on the wrestling bubble and called it "booking for the sickos" as if that's a thing to be proud of. Now WWE is white hot, with stars up and down the card and several angles the people are way into, running massive live shows and ppvs with great tv ratings. Their tertiary developmental program is competing with, and sometimes beating, AEW's flagshow. Meanwhile AEW is dependent on a 10+ year old bad sitcom to still do less than 800k ratings weekly and the matches they so pride themselves on are mostly being laughed at outside the wrestling nerd bubble. And that's just the flagship show. Collision and Rampage are about as important as old WWE Velocity. Anyone else remember Velocity? Gonna be what we say about AEW Collision and Rampage in a few years.

@teecakes4 ай бұрын
Presenting Joe Hendry on NXT (his face was also on RAW last night at the end of an NXT commercial) is doing more to promote TNA as a brand than anything Tony Khan's ever done on AEW tv, which isn't hard because all AEW (mostly Cody and the Bucks, but Tony too with Don Callis, Prince Nana, and etc.) ever did 'for' TNA was steal their talent away from TNA and bury TNA in the process. Funny how WWE has made Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry, and Mickie James and Trinity/Naomi look like legit TNA talent while cameoing in WWE (i.e. the Royal Rumbles Mickie James and Jordynne guest starred in as Knockouts Champion) and actually aid the TNA brand with storylines that get their brand over, not just spotfests where nobody remembers the match the next day (all of Forbidden Door, lol-- who won? I already forgot who the winners were and I just listened to Jim talk about this ppv!!) Everybody's talking about Kelani Jordan and Sol Ruca's NXT North American championship match from NXT Heatwave. Who is talking about young talent from ROH, NJPW, CMLL, or AEW that got over on Forbidden Door?? Are we gonna pretend that Jungle Boy is getting over? Mercedes? Maybe Ospreay is getting more over, but he just took a big loss and is in the same spot as Adam Page now after losing to Swerve, so great booking that new young talent. What a mess AEW is compared to NXT and WWE rn.

@@sy-ky_buddy4603It's not like TNA is going to be able to use them; they're a lame duck wrestling company at this point. They had a legitimate shot at being number 2 but Dixie made quick work of that by bringing on Russo and then pulling WCW 2.0 with Hogan and Nash. At this point it's in TNA's best interest to partner with WWE and serve as another unofficial developmental brand who can "invade" NXT and vice versa. That's the only way they can survive at this point.
@thorinjune28904 ай бұрын
@@sy-ky_buddy4603 Because it's not poaching talent. I understand that AEW fans believe the hype, but at the end of the day most stars want to end up at WWE. The number of people who are acting like Jordynne Grace and Joe Hendry are being held hostage in these scenario are insane. WWE gave them recognition and are promoting them as TNA wrestlers. Was this the originalmistico or the guy who replaced him when he went to WWE

According to Wikipedia it's the original one, he got the name back in 2021.

Mexican promoters are as bad as WWE when it comes to gimmicks and names as IP. AAA did it with LA Park and CMLL did it with Mistico. Something tells me that if he leaves CMLL again their prohibit him from using the Mistico name just like they did before.

@@Leviticus_Prime I think CMLL created and owns the gimmick, so he probably won't be able to use it if he leaves.

Ya know gotta say TK strikes me as having that current Nepowriter approach of just taking random ideas as crowd sourcing. I mean always been an issue apparently, rewatching old shows gets telling. A lot of good shows you can kind of see it, especially in the '90's. Season 3 if something is popular and unique is usually when it gets homogenized and morphed into a Flanderization. The interactions become inorganic like it's written by someone that has never had a genuine conversation and the plots repetitious and repeated beat for beat.

Brian’s disgust for what TK did to women’s wrestling is both hilarious and sad. When they try to move on from AEW no one is going to take them seriously wherever they land

Trying to make the young bucks the top heel team is like trying to make too cool the top heel team .....the main difference is young bucks don't have the look, booking or the talent of even too cool.....and most importantly they don't have Rikishi 😂

It's crazy how much AEW fans on their subreddit have turned on the Acclaimed... sometimes I think it's because these two guys are actually in shape and have a gimmick and look like goddamn wrestlers

What I find insane is the most expensive tickets available at all in Wembley stadium is £1800 seriously.. cheapest is £35.. in dollars that's about $2300 -$50 .. how the hell would people pay that type of money for aew.. its not like paying to see wrestlemania even when who would pay that type of money

If AEW was just PPV only, they'd be a great monthly thing cuz Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision are awful. You gotta treat each AEW episode like it's the first one ever seen to make it through.

Delusional. Thier ppvs are 💩 as well

The consistency of the Elite storyline is the worst part of this whole thing because I swear, a few weeks ago commentary said that TK had to approve a Bucks match/decision, thus, if that's true, logically, this makes no sense from any angle you look at it.

Im 110% hoping the Wyatt faction isnt supernatural in any way. Ive said this multiple times. Im willing to suspend disbelief on how the VHS tapes work so long as they have no supernatural elements attached.
