He would've called Danielson "Daniel Bryan" once at the very least. He has done it many times in the past. Honestly, with a match this big that is a liability I wouldn't be able to overlook, and clearly Tony Khan felt the same way.

Best booking choice was having the veterans put over the less established talent in each match (Jericho put over Starks, Christian put over Perry, Mox put over Page, Danielson put over MJF). Only objection I have is Joe putting over Wardlow; I think they left meat on the bone with Joe, who just jobbed to Darby Allin on tv recently.

The iron man match was good. But saying it’s better than Michaels/Hart or Angle/Lesnar is a little overboard
@beardomcgee5005
@beardomcgee5005 Жыл бұрын
It's definitely better than Hart/Michaels.. Go rewatch it without the stardust in your eyes. It's a hard match to get through. It was just as good as anything Angle/Benoit/Guerrero ever did together in any combination. And Angle/Lesnar shouldn't even be in the conversation. Angle is one of the best ever. Brock has been the same old Brock for 15+ years.. I have never been amazed by a Brock Lesnar match.. I think shitting on MJF is just the "cool" thing to do. But the proof is in the pudding. He's the best on mic by a mile. He gets his shit over without being a bump machine. Nevertheless, once you get him in the ring he can fkn go go. I'm a fan, and I didn't even expect that. I would put that MJF/Danielson match up against any match from a major company in North America in the last 20 years..
@PrecursorOrb1
@PrecursorOrb1 Жыл бұрын
@@beardomcgee5005 oh god I’ll need a men in black eraser to forget everything you just said. Hart/Michaels is legendary for his match and chemistry between them. We still talk about their match 20 years later, this iron man match will be forgotten because it’s AEW. They’ll shovel so much sh*t that this match will be buried. Brock Lesnar has had more people tune into his matches in the WWE and UFC than AEW combined. Look at Dynamites ratings, people tune it then tune out. AND MJF IS CHAMPION! No matter what happens on that PPV, no one is interested in following up on the show

@@PrecursorOrb1 I don't care if 200 million people watch a Brock Lesnar match. That doesn't make it good. Shawn Michaels is the single most over-rated performer in the history of wrestling. You all suck his dick and he was only around from like 95-98 in any kind of singles capacity.. Then he came back 02 and had some good matches. But late 90s Shawn is so goddamn revered and he literally did nothing of any significance outside of his matches with Bret and creating DX.. So yes, having watched both matches back to back. MJF/Danielson was a more exciting match than Shawn/Bret.. I don't care if you have to wash that thought out of your mind with a bullet. I've been watching wrestling for nearly 40 years. It was good for the time, but doesn't hold up today.. You're just regurgitating stupid mark rhetoric.. I used to think Shawn Michaels shit didn't stink, than I went back and scrutinized his career a little more and man he really didn't do much. Sure he was great in the ring. But when you talk about consistency, guys like Danielson and Styles have done it just as good but at a higher level for longer. Michaels gets a nod in the charisma department. But even still some of his promos are pretty fkn cringe.. So keep sucking the ghost of that matches dick if you want to. It's my opinion anyways 🤷‍♂️.

Minus MJF/Danielson this was what you expect from an AEW PPV. It had some good things, Christian vs Chrismas Vaccum Boy and Starks unexpected win. But most of it was skippable. Even more so with the 5-star rating, Uncle Dave gave the Drunk Hobo Moxley and Hangma'am match. I'm even more shocked he gave this favorite Circle Jerk Gynamastic Team vs the House of Bland only 4.75. Just watch the MJF/Danielson match and save yourself several hours, it is the best Ironman match in a long time and the best match in AEW history.

The best barb wire match was Terry Funk vs Sabu in ECW. The ropes were replaced with barb wire.

I get the new preshow format which sort of the felt like a copy of WWE preshow without the red carpet bit. They could have had someone else do backstage interviews for final hype moments.

Do they really charge 50 dollars in the US for these PPVs and people pay this?? It's 20 US dollars equivalent in the UK and I feel resentful about paying that much!

Now that we all learned, forgave and moved on from the second best storyline in all of wrestling together. Can we now get Omega vs. Punk in a dog collar match please? With Larry at ringside on a podium like matilda for the bulldogs in 80s please

I found something that I disagree with Jim and will fight to the death for it! Bread & butter pickles > dill. Also, for what it's worth, I watched this PPV with 2 adult friends who have started watching wrestling within the last 2 years. They love AEW and have never even listened to 1 episode of Jim's podcasts and they HATED Moxley vs Page. Went in as fans of both guys but hated the match. The phrase,"this isn't even wrestling" was used more than once.

I wonder, who could MJF work with next? It should be someone that can afford to lose, so another Daniellson match is out. Darby? Samoa Joe? A babyface Christian Cage?

AEW Revolution nailed it! They delivered what they had advertised. It's a huge 100% improvement from MJF'S terrible match with Dean Ambrose at Full Gear.

I actually think they overdelivered because the build was god awful
@shine11223
@shine11223 Жыл бұрын
@@BigmanDogs yes exactly. On the contrary, the built to full gear was massive with MJF declaring in the interviews that he has to win this match, he needs to win this match, that it's his destiny, he's the one who will take us to the golden age of pro wrestling again and what not. It felt too forced, too scripted and desperate to create the hype. And in the end he cheated his way like i know he's a heel, but this finish had Vince Russo written all over it. Most of the late 1999 to 2000 matches had the cheap Vince Russo finishes.

@sunny ☀️ I actually kinda liked the Full Gear stuff because MJF successfully worked people into thinking he was going to turn face. And people got genuinley mad when he didn't.
