Cornette knows a lot of what he says is getting him heat and views because he is a business man and at the end of the day he knows how to work wrestling fans. That said most of what he says are just honest critiques of the business that other guys like Lance Storm, Konnan and Gilbertti comment on from a similar background. The difference is Jim tends to do shoot promo on people more with Konnan coming in second. At the end of the day though it kind of makes his point that people are talking more about him ranting on certain angles and gimmicks then they do about the matches themselves.

@monte cacique What was "your day", because WWE had Mae Young give birth to a hand; the Undertaker sacrificed people; and they did a whole complicated storyline revolving around arson and murder with Kane and Undertaker for years. Plus, the Dudley Boys killed Paul Bearer at Great American Bash years later. WWE has always done silly stuff, but cinematic matches are relatively new.

@monte cacique Subjectively? Yes. Literally? No. While WWE started going "off the rails" in the 90's, it made wrestling more popular than it had ever been. Bray Wyatt should have been the heir apparent to the Undertaker. WWE totally screwed that up. I like the Fiend character but Bray Wyatt could cut some amazing promos and he had the talent that most wrestlers wish they had today. Sure he wasn’t a high flying flippy guy but his character was awesome.
@codycooper57683 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, WWE management/creative booked Bray Wyatt horribly time and time again, so much so that it became impossible to take him seriously anymore... To be that damn good on the mic, such a tremendous TALKER, but to lose constantly. It isn't a good way to get yourself and your character OVER, to that next level of superstardom... I absolutely loved the Wyatt family! Brodie Lee, RedBeard, Braun, and Bray, those four monsters should've been running the whole damn company!! I loved cult leader Bray and was sad to see him go... However, I also honest and truly, genuinely love the Fiend!! I feel like the Fiend is the REAL character Bray was trying to portray all along, he's like a culmination of all your worst nightmares and fears come to life! if we look at the character of crazy cult leader Bray Wyatt, well to me the Fiend is just a natural progression...his family is no more, they all deserted or abandoned him, leaving him lonely, frustrated, and hurt... Bray always spoke fondly of sister Abigail yet she remains a mystery to the fans. She tried to warn Bray about HIM, but eventually... HE TOOK OVER COMPLETELY!! Bray stopped resisting and just let go, and he let the evil that stayed locked up in his mind take over completely... all of the darkness, all of the pain, all of the insanity, all of the ugliness, all of the rage, all of the hurt, all of the malice, all of the spite, all of the fury and the vengeance, all of the absolute motherfucking complete and total CHAOS!!! that's the Fiend... I still believe that the Fiend can, should, and someday will become a legend..

The problem with modern wrestling is they’ve created their own echo chamber. They call all the wwe people superstars. Maybe I’m in 2002 they had 10 superstars. Now no one is a superstar. Not one. But when you comment that on a wwe video their stooges attack you because how can you say someone you’ve never heard of is not a superstar. So all the wwe does is create a bunch of self important people who think they’re special (just like Hollywood really) while aew has a bunch of people who think because they’re on tv and they can decide their own creative. They think they are creative while none of em can tell a bed time story let alone a serialised narrative. Wrestling is a bunch of people who get together and tell each other how important they all are and their fans who don’t know any better go along with it.

Bray seems like an example of someone given creative control, who has lots of ideas he gets excited about, but very little focus or forethought. He comes up with these gimmicks that seem really interesting, but then they either fizzle to nothing, or jump the shark so spectacularly (with a triple somersault, streamers and a laser light show) that the shark gets over excited and bursts into flames.
@djordjelalic80413 жыл бұрын
You think he likes what they are doing with him ? Recently, someone on the Konnan show talked about how he met Bray sometime after HIAC 2019 . Well apparently, Bray didnt like that match at all , and whats even more interesting , he predicted everything they would later do with the Fiend . He wanted to do something entirely different , something with the illuminati I believe , and while everyone backstage understood the concept perfectly , Vince didnt . And the rest is history .
@brettperry37373 жыл бұрын
Wait.... you actually think this was his idea? It's not even in the ballpark of what he intended the character to be. The weird but well thought out John Cena stuff last year... that was Bray. This shallow bs has Vince written all over it. I mean, do you honestly think Bray would book himself out of his ability to tell a story? However, they still got beat through conventional means during matches, and never no sold to the point where they took a sledgehammer to the face like nothing. As far as burning alive, at least with Taker, you could make the excuse that he may not actually be dead, and just used a trap door to escape burning caskets. The Fiend survived being burnt a crisp. Point being, Taker and Kane did a lot of stuff where you could say it was plausible as a normal man to do, whereas the Fiends work takes away from reality completely.
