@@richardpreston7333 It's more a generational thing than a political one. The millennial generation was a perfect storm of conditions that lead to just about every single member of them being entitled and being way too easy to offend. You had multiple generations of single moms raising kids so there wasn't even a grandfather around them when growing up, social media growing and maturing at the same time as the millennial generation which made them all feel like celebrities, and the whole participation trophies and attention all children received whenever they did anything, no matter how subpar it was; and when a person like that becomes an adult something like constructive criticism seems like a personal attack on them. I don't blame millennials for this either. They had no control over how they were raised. This was all our fault, and I mean "our" as the members of generation X and boomers who raised these kids to act like this. You can't blame the monster for the carnage it caused, you gotta blame Dr. Frankenstein for creating the monster. We failed and now we like to act like "oh these kids just don't get it, in our day people were made out of sterner stuff". No, we're all still made out of the same stuff, it's just that we spoiled the shit out of a generation of children and now we're upset at them for acting entitled as adults. Doesn't speak to our vast intelligence as a generation...
@richardpreston73334 жыл бұрын
@@jamesteegardner2273 Yeah, here's why the "millennials are entitled" stuff doesn't hold up - I'm Gen Y (or I was until somebody found a more patronising nickname for my generation) and all my generation has done has been trying to find work amid economic downturn after economic downturn, trying to pay the bills when boomers who've only ever known secure job markets and job security go "Well, you're spoiled because of all those participation trophies we gave you!" I live in Britain, and we're going to throw away everything that was holding this country together because all the entitled xenophobic boomers decided that being part of a democratic trade pact was bad because then brown people might come in and that hurt their feelings, so now Britain's run by a racist serial groper who let tens of thousands dive from Covid and all the boomers over here are whining because America's racist serial groper who let tens of thousands die from Covid got voted out of office, and he was supposed to make fucking everything up for no good reason worth it. The Young Bucks and their stupid clique are spoilt, stupid, whiny and entitled because that's just what MAGApedes and Brexiteers and all the other alt-shite fuckheads are.
