I remember a while back, honky Tonk man said he hosted a wrestling seminar with a lot of new guys, and guess who shows up as well? CLAUDIO! Guy was a star in the making, over huge in ROH and came to HtM’s seminar. Honky was yelling at Claudio “why are you even here?! You don’t need this!” Maybe Claudio didn’t need to show up, but he wanted to learn from legends even when he was good in the ring already. The newer aew wrestlers should take note

Actually the advice thing is not exclusive to adam page , there has been many instances over the years since AEW started where the wrestlers expressed that they either don't need advice or won't follow it , kenny omega for example said his style was good the way it is for many years but now he said he'll need to have a safer style after the injury ( which could've been avoided or lessened had he done that from the beginning ) , also when regal and bryan danielson came they set up a ring and would come early to shows so they can train and teach the new gen ( which is how they started training jade cargill ) but apparently few wrestlers came or listened to them , which is sad when you can see how a lot of them wasted the opportunity to benefit from having one of the two best technical wrestlers of our time

Let's look at both events in context: 1) Hangman's goal was to catch Punk flat-footed and embarrass him on live TV. If his plan had worked, it could have hurt PPV buys and even future business because their top babyface is now convincingly painted as an enemy of the locker room. 2) Beyond the words Punk said, he was essentially challenging Paige to go off script again when Punk was ready for it this time. He called him a coward not because his on-screen character didn't come out for a rematch, but because Paige had no problem going into business for himself when it was essentially a sucker punch, but was nowhere to be seen when it would have been on an even playing field. This could only actually hurt Paige and only so much further because Paige hasn't been wrestling in matches and has been reduced down the Dark Order's cheerleader in the trios tournament. Objectively, in full context, I would have to side with Punk as the one striking back and as the one whose actions were far more measured and judicious.

CM PUNK is awesome, he's great, he makes watching AEW so unpredictable, love him or hate him, he's able to elicit a reaction from the crowd, he has fans eating out the palm of his hand, when he speaks, people listen, many fans nowadays get offended easily and don't have the balls to cross the line. Wrestling is at its finest when you can't tell fact from fiction, promos and storytelling is what makes wrestling great not the flippy floppy no in-ring psychology hardcore crap we see every week on AEW. From what I see, he did Hangman a favour, what has Hangman done since losing to White? nothing important but hanging with jobbers like The Dark Order, all his momentum has cooled off because TK is an amateur booker, he's reminding fans that Hangman was once the champ, now Hangman has some buzz back on him. This might lead to important character development for a bland generic one dimensional personality of Hangman which he really much needs.

And I think it ends with one side leaving. And if Punk is really as big a draw for AEW as Tony said he is (at that media scrum) then I don’t see him siding with “The Elite.” If he does side with them it will expose the company as a Mickey Mouse organization that is just playing wrestling federation with their rich friends dads money and not a real business. At a time Tony is looking for a new contract with a big raise… there is no way the network gives them that after the biggest draw they have walks out the door. There is a fair case for Adam Page being the dumbest person in the wrestling business. Think about it, if Page had done business with Punk he could have called HHH when his contract was up and told him "I was one half of the best TV match AEW ever had, I was one half of the biggest drawing main event AEW ever had, I got a lot more years left in me and since I've never worked for you before there's a ton of first time ever matches we can do. I'll take two million a year" Instead he has tied himself to Tony and the Bucks for the rest of his career because no promoter/booker worth a damn will want a guy with a history of double crossing the people he's working with. Whixh also means he has no bargaining power when it comes to negotiation with Tony because where's he gonna go?

@@VeryStupid4547 asking Punk to overcome Tony’s booking is ask a lot. Punk’s great but he’s not a miracle worker.
I have to disagree with Jim on this one. If punk had an issue with Hangman, with Hangman's belligerent promo several weeks ago, Punk should have addressed it THAT NIGHT (slap him backstage, gave a rebuttal on the mic, whatever). Punk instead waits nearly two months to address it in a situation where Hangman couldn't do anything about it, which is corny and cowardly. What Hangman did was bad, but at least it was in his face (Punk is clearly witty enough to have responded). What Punk did was worse there was no way for Hangman to redeem himself.

@@MrVante247 exactly, punk learned by watching guys like heyman shoot. Anyone can bring up real life drama, but if you can turn that into a story in the ring while shooting, then that is what makes a legendary promo. Heat started in the ring between the two, possibly has been continuing backstage the past two months, and in a handful of lines punk just brought it back around and elevated their feud in the process to where there’s probably more people wanting to see this now than another mjf/punk match. Wouldn’t be surprised if this was punks way of going “you got me on tv, I waited and got you back. Now let’s milk this for a storyline.” Have been noticing for a while now they’re leading more and more to ex wwe guys slowly feuding with aew originals. Would be interesting if aew used all the real life heat with contracts and new guys to build their own version of the invasion storyline from the wwf

I think there is confusion coming from the EVP's and their friends. They think they are responsible for getting AEW off the ground. When in reality Tony Khan is the dude who made it really happen. If you take out all of the original EVP's Khan still could have gotten this thing off the ground at one point or another. Maybe he needed those guys to get it going quicker or something. But if you remove Khan from the equation this never has a prayer of happening.
