@@bugginout8602 Highly unlikely. The Turner execs didn't want wrestling on Turner TV, the AOL execs that came in liked wrestling even less than the Turner ones did and the final nail that would have killed WCW is how poorly run the company was. It never could have survived. WCW lacked one thing that WWE, AEW and even TNA have, someone at the top in charge of everything. Wrestling seems to only really work when there's a "the buck stops here" person at the top who has their hand in hiring, creative, production, and business dealings. Eric would have become that guy for WCW after the sale if he had bought it the way he planned to, but as part of Turner, he wasn't that guy. WCW had their power structure spread out to multiple people in multiple roles between both WCW and Turner. WWE today is kind of getting that way because it's grown to big for Vince to oversee everything and it's lead to the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing all the time.

Out of all the EVP’s, Cody feels like the wrestler most likely that’s gonna end up being the one who becomes so insufferable that even Tony won’t be able to deal with him any longer and he’s going to end up leaving. It feels more like they care about creating some mythical non existent brand versus doing what is right for business.
@davyjones20323 жыл бұрын
What's funny is he seems to take actual pro wrestling more serious than the other EVPs. I think what makes the fans turn on him is he essentially is the old school WWE style babyface but since others could do it better there he tries to do it in AEW. He may be using wrestling as a way to get into his next career (smart move honestly) but he certainly doesn't make a mockery of actual pro wrestling the way the Young Bucks do.

All four of the EVP's have an over inflated view of themselves that worked good enough to get someone to bankroll a wrestling company and a decent number of fans to follow them initially. I'll risk sounding like an ass but this was why Triple H held down Cody and his ideas back in his final years in WWE. His ideas in AEW have fucking bombed and buries all the talent around him. He's going to end up like his brother unhappy in WCW and WWF with all the failed gimmick changes.

Hopefully WHEN Cody turns heel, the Golden Shovel gimmick would be absolutely perfect. What’s Cody’s image to the people? They see him as entitled, egotistical, narcissistic, glory-obsessed, and having spent his life growing up on Easy Street with his legendary dad paving his way. When Cody cuts the first heel-turning promo, he can use the line, “I wasn’t fed with a silver spoon… I was fed with a F*CKING GOLDEN SHOVEL.” From that point on, Cody uses the shovel as his weapon of choice, much like HHH with the sledgehammer or Jeff Jarrett with the guitar.

I love AEW, probably more than most people from the Cornette comment sections, but holy hell Cody needs to lay off the shots at the WWE - more specifically Triple H. AEW has been an official company for over two years now and they STILL talk about the other promotion on a nearly weekly basis. Not to mention Triple H is legitimately hurt after the surgery and heart condition, yet Cody feels the need to constantly try and stress him out. It is beyond childish what Cody has been doing and its just one reason why a lot of people can't take these guys seriously.
