@@raymondragbar1935 If he had the Resources and Talent of WWE today, you could have been sure that we never would have seen such Shit. That Stuff like the TMNT Matches, and the other Manager Brawls were fristly infornt of maybe 500 - 1000 People if that, and filmed in a High Skool or Collage Gym or National Guard Armory. And they only had regionall TV Coverage. So completley different Scale. But that aside, these Matches also made some Sense psychologically and received mostly good Crowd Reactions. Big bloddy Difference. Do your Research before you besmirch one of the All Time Greatest in the World. If you want to see what Jim can do with an actual Budget watch his old OVW Stuff from 2002 - 06 . He made most of the current Day Superstars in that Stable. Lesnar, Cena, Batista and Randy Orton all came out of that developmental Territory. And many other great Wrestlers too. So don't give me Shit about Conry not knowing what he does. Kane was great during his debut and a while after. After that he lost his mystique, his mask and hair. Then a loser in the midcard scene, hardly a winner even as a midcard and nowhere near the best midcarders of all time like Benoit, Eddie, Christian, Jericho, Mysterio, Booker T, etc. and an ok world champion. Not very good in the ring either though his run with Bryan was entertaining but buried Kane as a monster and turned him into a goof.

I hate Rumbles that involve going under the bottom rope, fighting around the ring or going backstage. Ever since I was a kid, I would just think well why wouldn’t everyone just go under and stay out. It’s a huge flaw in the rules, especially as so many wrestlers have gone under the ropes and later won or been in the final stages.

I love this podcast, but I had to laugh when he was like "let's compare 98 to this years and see how many more stars there were," and Brian proceeds to read off 1 star 3 times, like maybe 3-4 other stars and like 20+ jobbers no one cares about. Did not make his point at all.

1998 Royal Rumble had 9 world champions in it; 2021 Men's had >10.
@TheClhWarrior
@TheClhWarrior 3 жыл бұрын
@@bradpaton3927 If we are counting just the Royal Rumble, and just WWE world championships, then the '98 rumble had 4 while '21 had 13. That's kind of expected considering there are multiple championships now vs. just one then. Even if you count NWA championships and other territories and promotions '21 still has more. Then again, that's not what I said. I said "stars." Was Vader a star in WWE? Was Terry Funk as Chainsaw Charlie? Was Mark Henry a star then? '21 probably had more just based on pure numbers. It doesn't mean I think the show is better now than then. I don't. I just think it's fair to look at things more objectively.

Ricochet is as tall as Daniel Bryan and only an inch shorter than AJ Styles and far more cut than both but to Jim those guys are stars and Ricochet is a midget gymnast. It's starting to become clear that when it comes to judging the star quality of guys Jim is letting his personal feelings for them as workers affect his judgment.

Is it now you realise that? His take on Asuka is probably the most glaring example of this.

@@pkj2148 I've made peace with it when it comes to stuff like Jim constantly saying the Buks look like middle schoolers, despite being taller than AJ and having beards, but the fact he's calling out guys who literally everyone wants to see get a push just because he once pissed Jim off really makes a lot of what he says hard to take. I can accept he has a specific style of wrestling he wants to see, but his inability to make points based on actual facts over innacurate personal distaste really drags down the rest of his stuff.

@@zakrowe1301 He says she is a japanese schoolgirl. He puts all the female japanese wrestlers in that category because of Riho. At least, Bryan Last always tells him he's wrong about Asuka and that she's great. He doesn't want to listen though. He's made up his mind that she is a japanese schoolgirl and that's just how it is.

People forget the Rumble where Stone Cold chased Vince out of the ring and all around the arena without either being eliminated. That too was dumb. But hey, I’m not defending this.
