Mark Henry being a big Andre the Giant fan makes sense: he's told the story about having a conversation with Vince around when he first got there, where he said his grandmother used to take him to the wrestling shows. And at one particular show, the kids behind him crowded him and pushed him over the bike rack barricade face first while they were all trying to get close to Andre during his entrance. He said Andre lifted him up one handed and stood him back up behind the barricade. And from then on, he knew wanted to be a part of the business. Andre stoked that love in Mark.

While My Mother didn't care for it she always liked Surfer Sting, The Tag Team Mr. Wrestle #1 and Mr. Wrestle #2 and Nikita koloff (I got research the correct spelling).. The latest person out of New York she actually liked was The Rock.. and that was 20 years ago lol.. She was mad crazy about that dude.. but My Mother do miss Atlanta (WCW/NWA wrestling) a lot.. @@bradpaton3927 I don't doubt for a second Taker was very nice to the two children of his boss- he's a nice guy already. And with Mae and Moolah, they were always reputed to have reinvented themselves as grandmotherly figures to Shane and Stephanie, despite both having had a history of being mean old coots. But why the cynicism? They were lucky enough to grow up around some of the best in the business, of course they're going to say nice things about the legends. Isn't it pretty well documented that Andre did hang out at Vince's house? Shane mentioned on Austin's podcast that Andre was a frequent dinner guest and even though it would have been much later, Andre lived there for a period of time after his surgery. From everything I've ever heard, it does sound like he was genuinely closer to the McMahons than most of the wrestlers were.

I attended an AWA battle royals in St. Cloud, MN where they brought up Andre in a bread truck so he could lie down (back troubles). In the match, Mad Dog was perched on the second rope. Ken Patera was holding out Sheik Adnan’s arm and MD was gesturing that he was going to bite the arm. MD jumped, Adnan yanked his arm away and a stumbling MD bit Andre on the butt. Andre howled and all the wrestlers (except MD) abandoned the ring. As an angry Andre approached, the Dog did a comic two step dance and grinned at Andre. The Giant waived his hand in disgust and the battle royals resumed.

Even Jim had to pull out the hold on Brian on that one lol. Andre was known to be a gentle giant and Stephanie was his bosses small daughter. I don't doubt that they could have had a very sweet relationship and I don't see why she would choose to perpetrate that as a lie so much. It's not like she's claiming he was her best friend as a full on adult. Maybe as a kid he was so nice that to her he was. And imagine as a kid knowing andre, you'd probably be obsessed lol he's like a real life giant.

Bill Eadie was the Masked Superstar in the territories. Junji Hirata created Super Strong Machine gimmick in Stampede in 1982, and worked the gimmick there and in Japan (NJPW & AJPW). I'm assuming since Bill Eadie's Masked Superstar gimmick looked similar to the Machine gimmicks, that's why he was given the gimmick in 1986 after the WWF "borrowed" it for the stable.

Originally there were two podcasts on the MLW radio. The Experience which was free, and the Dive Thru that came at a subscription fee. The Drive Thru was the co-host asking Jim questions from the fans. The Drive Thru evolved into a very experience-esque podcast where the questions are overshadowed by a. AEW and b. whats trending on Twitter. Sadly. Anyway, I think the way they prepare the shows, that Brian has the task of coming up with the main schedule for the Drive Thru. Making sure to cover this and that, and pick out questions and topics. However, simply put, both shows are Jim's, and they're just playing with it.

Bethlehem Pennsylvania is not far from Allentown. There used to be a pro wrestling museum in merchant square Mall. In Allentown Pennsylvania. They had a bunch of ring worn items from a lot of different wrestlers. Including Andre the Giant. I've seen it myself many times.

Sonny Onoo was far from the worst manager ever. He was pretty funny with Ernest Miller. Onoo would take selfies (in the 90's) on their way to the ring to get heat.

Andre's ranch is just under an hour from where I live. Ellerbe is a very small town right next to another really small town called Wagram, NC. Wagram, NC is home to the annual "Biggest Pig Picking in the World". Both towns are right next to a road that Arn Anderson mentioned on his show, named Old Wire Road. It was a road he mentioned that he saw Jimmy Valiant and Rocky King driving down and playing cards while they drove. Kind of interesting to me.

Is there gonna be an actual physical HOF or museum to display these items? Has land been purchased? Has construction begun? I know there’s been talk but there’s been talk for several years with nothing ever moving forward. They’re going around acting noble as if they’re doing it for the fans preserving history but in reality they’re just taking back items they feel they’re entitled to just to store away. I’m guessing not a lot of people make it out to Ellerbe but I guarantee you more people have an opportunity to see the Machine mask there than inside the WWE warehouse.

Nobody really talks about how in reality Andre really drank and ate himself to death. There are a lot of people with Acromegaly who live into their 70s, without pituitary surgery. I remember him walking by me in front of MLG and he couldn't have been over 6'8. If you're drinking 50 beers a night, and eating 6 steaks, I don't care how big you are, that's going to kill you faster than Acromegaly.
