@@gothard5 Sad but possible. They should have kept some of the "bigger" stories back to seed later seasons. I do understand how they had to start with a bang though, but once they got established they could have put some of the "less interesting" (not my words) episodes in sooner among a few others that had more buzz. Now, though, it feels like people think the best is over and won't give the obscure stories a chance.

Chris Colt was honestly probably my favourite episode of DSOTR so far. Being a bi dude myself, it was really cool seeing someone be openly gay in the 60s and 70s and just not give one shit what anybody thought of him. He defied pretty much every stereotype of gay men imaginable - it must have taken serious balls to live the life he lived, when he lived it. Also that bit where the porn director was talking about how much gay men of the 80s loved Hogan was bloody hilarious!

One thing I DO have to point out though... If Chris Colt existed in the modern day, Cornette probably would hate him.... I mean, look at the way Corny talks about Nick Gage for example. Cornette is always talking about how he wants "characters" and "real crazy people" in the business again, like Chris Colt or Buzz Sawyer - But the thing is, that looks a lot like a "bank addicted drug robber" lol. I love Chris Colt and consider him a trail blazer and a bit of a hero of mine (being bi myself, just the way he was openly gay in wrestling the the 60s/70s and didnt give a shit - i gotta look up to that) - but if he were around today, Cornette would lump him in with people like Nick Gage or Ian Rotten.
@JimmyHeartburn8 ай бұрын
I think Jim was a fan of his because Colt stood out as a character, especially back then. He was actually a pretty good wrestler and wasn’t using pizza cutters and glass in his matches as far as I know.
@TheLokiBiz8 ай бұрын
Fair enough, I more so just meant that in his later years (the porn vid years), Colt looked like a toothless addict not unlike Gage (no offense to Colt - like i said, I honestly think he was awesome). And Corny doesnt just seem to hate Gage for the garbage wrestling, he also seems to hate him for "not looking like an athlete" or whatever. @@JimmyHeartburn

I get the performance enhancers, I get the uppers, I get the downers, I get the pain killers, but I don't understand why hallucinogenic drugs are attractive to professional wrestlers. Another great episode with great commentary from Corny. One correction. Comparing anyone bad to Mother Theresa is not a comparison. She allowed so much suffering to happen because it was somehow bringing people closer to “God”. Those people needed medicine, not to lie in agony.
