This reaction is part of our Mega Reaction Fest 3 that is being organised from 11th to 30th November, 2019.
ENOMA stands for 'Easygoing Native Outsiders Making Assessments'.
We are an Indian couple residing in Mumbai. We create first-time, single take & honest reactions.
We serve soulful, deep, insightful and pure reactions on a regular basis. Sometimes, the rest of the family joins us too.
Savio and me are two counselors, teachers & stay-at-home parents who enjoy listening to music for the first time.
We listen to music like it should be listened to. Without pausing the songs while we listen to them.
We seek to understand a song's true meaning. We love listening to music that adds value to our lives.
We often venture deep into the heart of a song to share an educated assessment on it.
Our post-reaction analysis is based on our educational background, life experiences, and rich culture.
As counselors, we are keen listeners. Savio is excellent at analyzing lyrics. People say I have good listening skills.
As a result, viewers get to watch good reactions on ENOMA every time.
We love reacting to music from all over the world. And of different genres and styles.
It can be easily seen in the 1500+ reactions we've already created on Enoma.
We are honest in our reviews. If we like a song, we say it. And if we didn't like it, we will say so.
Our channel has the official name 'CAFE ENOMA'. We started posting videos on 12th May, 2018.
We hit 1K subscribers on 1st July, 2018. 5K on 10th December, 2018. 10K on 24th March, 2019. 15K on 15th June, 2019, 20K on 7th October, 2019.

How many times have you ever been driving down the highway, perhaps a little over the speed limit, singing at the top of your lungs while this song is playing "rolling me down the highway, rolling me down the highway, moving ahead so life won't pass me by".

You guys stay true to yourselves your reactions are deep felt detailed and on point a veritable breath of fresh air no cookie cutter responses just to please the status quo you hear what you hear and it a spur of the moment point blank opinion these songs are from my time I grew up with these songs all 63 yrs. of my life and it is good to hear your responses with virgin ears keep doing it the way your heart tells you to and to heck with the naysayers you can't please everyone.

Thanks for the thoughtful reaction. On September 20, 1973, the day before "I Got a Name" was released, Jim Croce (pronounced CROW-chee) and five others were killed when their chartered aircraft crashed into a tree during takeoff in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Croce was 30 years old.

I was 12 at the time of the plane crash that took the lives of such talented people. My two older brothers were going to college where Jim Croce performed that night and they both attended. The next day they said it campus was in shock with many people gathering at the crash site in tears paying they’re last respects.

I believe part of the inspiration for this song was that Jim Croce's family immigrated from Italy in a time when there was much resentment for Italian immigrants in America. This was Jim's declaration to not hide his Italian name and heritage to keep small people comfortable and avoid persecution.
@jgfina

Speaking from experience, my family DID change their name to try to avoid resentment and prejudice in the US. I admire Jim's message and the two young people here who make me smile discovering music I grew up with.
@herecomesaregular8418

@@jgfina This was an all too common story for many immigrant families, and still happens today. In my own family's genealogy, I found multiple instances of purposeful respellings, or just outright full on name change, all for the sake of staying out of ridicule's way. They ranged in nationalities from Scandinavian, Scots-Irish, and Italian. All at different times in our nation's past when various groups were being persecuted. And of course, that mindset still persists with far too many Americans.

Been a long time since I've heard this song. Jim Croce wrote songs that were about his being Real. Savio picked this up loud and clear. To be blessed by Saint John Paul the Second and by Saint Theresa of Calcutta - How wonderful, Savio ! The whole idea of "moving down the highway" was very popular for the sixties generation because we felt that we were out there exploring as a generation. I'm happy that you take your responding to musical suggestions so fully and that when we watch we know that you both will be honest - you both share so much with us. Thank you. oh, and if Anyone is Rude to either of you, I would take it for that individual's ignorance. I would not let it touch me and I would block them or eliminate them from saying anything on this site, which is purely there to experience and share the joy of music.

Thanks for your sincere positive reaction to this great song from the 70's. Wow ! You are so fortunate to have met Saint Mother Theresa and Saint Pope John Paul II . God bless you for mentioning this and for your words of wisdom. So nice to have people like the both of you on KZbin.

I love your reactions to all the music I love and grew up with. I remember the day Jim's plane crashed, it was so sad, I played his records every morning before school. and put the newspaper clipping about his passing on my bedroom wall. I was in elementary school at the time.

Love to Savio and Kirti for opening yourselves to the world, sharing exactly who you are through your reactions to music, sharing a joyful human experience. The best moments in life occur when we are with friends and together with them experience good music, good food, good literature or art. You have found a way to share that kind of intimate experience with tens of thousands of people. Thank you!

Short, sweet and very moving. In my opinion, this is his second greatest song, behind TIME IN A BOTTLE, which to me stands out as not only his greatest song, but undoubtedly one of the GREATEST songs ever recorded, of any artist, decade or genre. Time In a Bottle is one you should check out.

Wow, that is so wonderful that you have been blessed by Pope John Paul II and by Mother Teresa! Learning to let bad words and vibes from others bounce off you is not always easy, but it's a good thing to strive for. ... Looks like you have already reacted to Jim Croce's beautiful ballad "Time in a Bottle," too. He was such a talented singer and songwriter and he really touches the heart. If you're interested in another bittersweet Jim Croce ballad, I recommend "Operator."

The reason this song is so pure and all the other things you say is because it was released in the early seventies, and songs from the sixties and seventies, as one of you says in another video, have that pure quality that is lacking in music from later eras.

I Got A Name. When *you know WHO you are*, or better yet, when you know Who's you are, you really cannot be intimidated or insulted with any real effect. God has a Name too, and he wants us to carry it with us, 'like my Daddy' does. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Jim Croce (Cro-chee) was one significant song writer, one of the best singer/song writers in a era full of them.

I can't listen to a Croce song without the tears flowing. Such a loss. His songs also remind me of my lost and ill spent young adulthood that had so much potential, but I squandered. Enjoy your youthful days, but be goal oriented. You have surprisingly little time to make it happen. Today becomes a distant yesterday before you know what happened. Great reaction vid. Tks for the memories.
