When Des O`Connor passed away in 2020 they showed an obituary on TV that included all the best clips from his career. Not once did they show the laughs and frolics he shared with Freddie , and there were loads...Those two bounced off each other with their comedy and was a joy to watch when I was growing up.

I was lucky to see Freddie live. He came out after the show and sat on the edge of the stage as we were going home and asked if anyone had any questions? A guy said what is the silliest thing you have done Fred? Fred replied, I was sitting at home bored looking out the window at the pouring rain. I suddenly jumped up, ran outside and flagged down a passing car. The guy opened the window and said hello Freddie how are you is there a problem? Freddie said, I am in trouble and I need a bit of a push to get me going will you help? The guy said sure and parked his car and followed him round the back of his house. Fred then came out with the punchline. He said I went and sat on the garden swing, and this guy stood there giving me a push..both of us getting soaking wet! Still funny all these years later and I believe it really did happen, that was the guy.

When genuine accusations are made about powerful people, their tactic is to find people willing to make false (and usually scandalous) accusations - then they will highlight the false allegations as proof all the accusations were false. They don't care who the false accusations target - their goal is to protect the powerful!

I have to say, that if these guys hadn't been celebrities, one wonders if there would've been ANY investigation at all. It was a dreadful time, YES; there are those who were convicted, but when you see the amount of collatoral damage to more than Half of those investigated at the time who were innocent, the initial accusations weren't questioned enough before proceeding. What gets me the most, is one or two suddenly come forward with genuine and/or perceived concerns of wrong-doing, by a celebrity only opened the door to the wider population, with many dubious characters therein. However, via the corrupt police revealing information to the press and media, like on Cliff Richard's home search, it allowed every greedy, parasite, and/or balloon, (who, never before considered it, suddenly thinks, "hmm; I met him once, he had his arm round me - oh, maybe I was another one of the victims"), to come out chasing money or out of stupidity. Freddie was hounded, like you were Jim, Paul, the Corrie lads too etc, but Freddie was a fragile character and the treatment of YOU ALL, by the police, but more so, the rabid and sensationalist press and media was sickening..
@kr45592 жыл бұрын
I’m always gonna believe the timing was just far too ironic. They went after dozens of white celebs/ comics etc as soon as they knew the Bradford peodophile gang story was about to break… and that the police had known about it for 15 yrs and done nothing. And all of a sudden all these guys from the 70s and 80s get pulled?… they had to go after theses guys too. And fast. In the case of guys like Cliff, Freddie Jim they’d done nothing. And almost killed them. All to make the police look proactive and that no one was picking on a certain demographic.
