The Gisbson SG standard makes a nice slide machine. I have the SG 1962 reissue and it does a great job for slide.

@FnRnMr brass is very heavy , semi soft and if I am not mistaken it tarnishes so it can have a rougher texture. Bronze , Stainless steel , glass and the like are smooth and stay smooth. The difference between them is feel and weight. Depending on how sensitive your feel on the strings is it can make a huge difference in sounds. If your handy with your Brass slide you can do it all. As for the glass slides not breaking , it is pretty tough glass but it can break. Cheers FnRnMr

I have a selection of Dunlop slides, both metal and glass. They're all great. Excellent quality and craftmanship. And very reasonably priced. Enjoy!

Brass and chrome are underrated with an SG or Les Paul.

I know this very old but I have a question about sizing. I bought a 320 chromed slide for my ring finger that was too big. I went down one size to the 220 which is too small. Not sure what to do.

You might try and find a store with a selection of different range sizes slides and just try them on.

@dragoneti67 I have never found a shy slide in any music store. Funny I see your comment today after I order a few from a shop earlier this morning lol When I get one I will let you know what I think of it and post a vid of them. My guess with shy slide is that you can only use it on a couple strings at a time so it will be very interesting to me. Cheers eh!

I saw a guy cut his finger to the bone with a tempered glass slide - not worth it - it'll always break on you sooneror later amd cut you - just use brass.

glass slides are the biggest rip off, always break. just use an old bottle - stronger glass.
@ushnicyuvnikof27482 жыл бұрын
Yep they can break on the finger and cut you real nasty to. Brass is best.
