As a lifelong Chargers fan, Harbaugh is a breath of fresh hair. Chargers ownership finally did something right when hiring. Let's hope this materializes into something special in a year or two. Herbert must be ecstatic to be a part of a real football team with a real head coach.

Lifelong charger fan as well and never understood Spanos philosophy on coaching. Comoaies with great CEO, turn their companies around. They hire great Presidents, CFO, CMOs and the culture trickles throughout the company. It’s all about your people stupid, not your stupid people. Finally I think they’re going to see what that looks like. They sort of had it in Schottenheimer but fired him after a 14-2 season. Harbaugh is a different animal. They will see the rewards and we all will benefit.

Dan - reiterating Jim’s sentiment, thanks for bring up the Chargers work shirt, leading to Jim’s stories from his family. My grandfather wore one of those shirts during his time as a mechanic in southwestern Ohio. That hard job ultimately led to cancer and the end of his life, but it’s part of our family’s story and hard-working nature of Ohio and the Midwest. Same thing with working until you die. Ohio and Michigan can battle on the field, but we have shared values with many in the Midwest.
