His drawing vocabulary is unbelievable... Every shape and camera angle is already mapped out in his mind before pencil/pen hits the page. Because all it is is shapes and fills. Master those skills and good to go! Jim Lee is master legend!

Yes, it's amazing how so many of these comic artists are basically able to just print the final image on to the paper. No second guesses, just execution. Obviously not all of them are like that though. For example, I also like watching David Finch because he might change some things almost completely in the middle of the process.

I always have trouble with multiple characters in a panel, so it's really cool to see how Jim lays it out. I will also be using that reverse 3/4 trick, too! I know it could be weird logistically and such, but I would love to see Jim draw a full comic page. From what the script says, to the path of the eye and finally the pencils (and maybe inks, who knows?), it would be amazing! Spoilers could be a problem, but who knows? Maybe one day!

I actually have alot of respect for the inker and colorist alot more after seeing Jim draw. Jim does such an insane job sketching and Inking that what does the inker do to improve it? LOL that is one job where you are tracing the other person's work and hoping that someone actually appreciates what you do. Then to top it all off, the colorist has to decide to pick up after the other 2 do their work and make the whole thing 'POP' its amazing the work that they do together. And its such a damn shame that the comic book industry rides a wave of highs and lows. But now that comic books are being turned into movies, maybe they are bouncing back from all the media attention?

I need some tips on how to get over being an "Art perfectionist" It really stops me from experimenting with my art and it makes me self conscious of doing artwork mostly because getting my lines perfect is always what comes to mind. I always look at other art works to see what I like and I try to draw the image in my head and when I try it sucks towards the end. I adore comic book art even more than anime really but it's so..."complicated and sophisticated?" I guess it's more human than anything and I guess in order to make comics as awesome as this one you HAVE to know how the body moves, and works and anatomy and it's so complicating to me I just want to draw XC...but this is AWESOME WORK!!
