i recently went to paris and visited his apartment a couple times, i had dinner literally opposite his place it was an amazing experience. i also visited his grave a couple times, i placed a rose on his grave and i sat by it alone with my dad and listened to "the end". it was so peaceful and beautiful that i cried, if you are in paris u have to visit pere lachaise!! i didnt want to leave

Thank you for posting this. I visited the Perelachaise in October 1989...and on a foggy day Jim's grave became apparent like a visitation and I will always remember the aroma of hash in the air and a girl sitting there lost in her own world...to think Jim entered and that archway over half a century ago and his coffin exited that archway over half a century ago....a meagre funeral for a rock star who helped to define the 1960s....a funeral that was perfunctory and secret, devoid of priest and family, Jean de Breteuil has hurriedly vanished to Morocco, it was ironically then that the mythic status of Morrison was born and thousands now flock to his grave in the Perelachaise because Jim Morrison will never be forgotten in this fleeting world and time is so mysterious...greetings from Dublin 🇮🇪...birthplace of Oscar Wilde and neighbour in the Perelachaise 🇨🇵🔔

Jim visited the cemetery a week or two before he passed away. I went in 87 it was really strange. A white bust of Jim on a cement block with his name on it. The bust was disfigured, the nose had been broken off, and there was sharpie writing on all the crypts near Jim.

Sadly Jim , passed tomorrow , 3/7/21 , here in Paris , , but his spirit lives on , and those like myself who where lucky enough to see the Doors , in concert etc , still raise a glass to Jim , and talk about his work ! thankyou for this production , it keeps his work alive , as a Creative / Artist . it was the date of my 21st birthday , but sadly I never meet him , and did nt live in france at that time .

I went to Paris last time just to visit his grave and also the apartment that he lived in Paris. I also asked to a french neighbor if Jim had lived in that building and the french guy answered me OUI. JIM MORRISOM. It was SOMETHING!!!!!!

Unfortunately, when Jim was there with Pam, he was violently ill, vomiting, and even, if he was hospitalized, his heart was so weak, from years of alcohol abuse, he probably would have died, in the hospital..

Hey Michael, Jim's death should have been properly investigated I believe, He seemed to be buried before a lot of people even knew about it

@@michaelorourke5848 I hear ya..so the Doors manager, at the time..Danny Sugarman, flew out to Paris, according to Ray, to check if the rumor was true..that Morrison, had died. And, according to Ray, when he spoke to Sugarman, he asked him..' did you see Jim when he was being buried, and Sugarman, mentioned..' No, I just didn't want to see Jim being in a coffin..', and Ray, said..'what..?

@@michaelhegyan7464 Yeah man, it all seems very suspicious if you ask me ....
@jacklowe3429 Жыл бұрын
It wasn't Sugarman. Danny Sugarman was a teenager in 1971, answering fan mail at the Doors' office in LA. Bill Siddons was their manager. Siddons made the trip to Paris, saw the coffin (closed) and attended Jim's burial.

You aren't paying attention, friend. Jim left California alone to be with his girlfriend Pam Courson who was already in Paris. The rest of the band stayed behind to finish mixing "L.A.Woman". Jim died on July 3. The band's 18 year old manager, Bill Siddons, arrived in Paris on July 7, to find Jim's sealed casket, with a French death certificate on it, and no autopsy was performed. Jim was buried that day. The band was never in Paris with Jim.

@@mben-david2064 You aren't paying attention, friend. Bill Siddons was born in 1948, so he was 22-23 years old at the time of Jim's death. ;)
