@@SewSawThief It might be up or down a step but its definitely in standard tuning. I used to play it a lot myself on guitar. Also, there's this cover: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qqaQnWx6addmfrc in which the guy plays the song by Jim O'Rourke then goes straight into playing a song by John Fahey, without retuning, which is also in standard.

GIN&CHRONIC yeah, I know that video and love it (Fahey is hero of mine). But guy there skip before second (long) part of Jim’s song and you won’t be able to play it unless you tune your guitar to egdgbe (or you have finger that can stretch from 3 to 10 fret :) ). Yes, it’s not open, but not standard either.
