He's playing without a strap, that's not easy to do, he's a true master he does amazing guitar playing. It's sad that we don't have entertainers like this anymore that I know of that can do comedy and music and pull it off brilliantly.. He's also great classical player. God Bless You Jim.

Jim came to our college in Rapid City SD in either 1973 or 1974. Small intimate ballroom and we sat right under the stage. We laughed so hard we couldn’t breathe. Best part was after the show Jim sat on the edge of the stage and visited with all of us. He was a really nice guy.

Mr. Stafford won't remember this but: In the early 1980's, mom and I were walking the strip. We reached the crosswalk at Caesar's Palace. We were about to cross where the cars exit and paused when a jeep pulled up. Mom waved him on. The driver smiled, tilted his head and waved his arm for us to cross. We did. After a few steps in we saw that the driver was the brilliant Jim Stafford! We giggled and gushed. mom was quite shy and she blushed. He realized that we recognized him a he laughed. When we reached the front of his jeep mom asked me, "Is he still looking?" "Yep. And he's smiling big." "Oh my gosh!" We passed his jeep and were about to reach the sidewalk, when mom asked me, "Is he still looking?" I began to look behind us when she said, "No! Don't look! I'll look." She did. "Oh my! He's STILL looking. AND he's still laughing! And he waved to me!" Every now and then she'd bring it up. A few days before she died in 1995, she brought it up....laughing. Not an easy thing, for by this time she was in extreme pain. Thank you Mr. Stafford.

I think it's safe to say they already are. At least to anyone who even loosely about music. I can't intentionally ppay a specific note on anything. I mean I can tap a snare or beat a bass drum. Anybody can drop that. Just stay with the best. Stratford, Roy Clark, Joe Bonomassa,. As a matter of fact, someone's probably got stufff on sheet music that never had the opportunity to get in front of the right person AT THE RIGHT TIME. I think somebody played Skynyrd, including Freebird, for nine labels who all turned them away, before MCA ripped them off. They were just a bunch of kids hanging on the street playing baseball and racing gocarts and such. Gary Rossington dropped out because of his dislike for the Coach who was always on then about there hair if it touched their ears. Probably others, too. Just a bunch of teens who's Dad's took lunch pales to their blue collar jobs. Living week to week. They knew nothing of contracts or business dealings. They have a song, "Working for MCA" that covers a little of that. It's kinda funny but still very sad that a bunch of sleeze bags would take advantage of kids like that. Where and when they were from, you just took a man, especially an established business owner, at his word.. He had to be or he'd go out of business. Most of the time customers had to buy some things on credit because they had to wait for the crops to come in or til they could sell a few head of cattle, pigs, whatever they may be into. Usually a little of all. If you ever get to see an hour or longer documentary on the band, I recommend viewing it. So the customer had to be legit, too., because he'd have nobody give him credit after that.
