What makes it all the more funny is that, Owen's character's attitude and Robin's expression implies that Robin woulda broken it off with him without trouble, making the beating hilariously unnecessary.
@barbiquearea9 жыл бұрын
+Shanethefilmmaker Well at least Robin wasn't one of those really concerned chicks who would have gone to the hospital with Owen's character and fell in love with him out of pity. That would have been ironic.
@Shanethefilmmaker9 жыл бұрын
barbiquearea Actually if she did, then she would have gotten closer to him. Most people often get close to someone in a hospital, because they feel sorry for them and want to take care of them,.
@barbiquearea9 жыл бұрын
Shanethefilmmaker That's what would have made it ironic because Chip would have brought them closer rather than tearing them apart.
@Shanethefilmmaker8 жыл бұрын
Sorry for late reply but something recently brought to my attention in this scene. Maybe she assumed he left before watching the news regarding the beating.
@barbiquearea8 жыл бұрын
Shanethefilmmaker Could be although any normal person would follow up on it if they saw that's what happened to their blind date on the news and at least visit them at the hospital. Of course Robin might have but they still didn't click or Owen's character was just too scared to persue a relationship with her after Chip's warning. Who really knows.

@alexjackson22187 жыл бұрын
azraelangelofred To be fair, Chip isn't really beating him up. He's more of roughing him up. He puts his head in a toilet, slaps powder on him, plucks his eyebrows, forces him to suck on a hand dryer nozzle. The only thing that could be really beating up is when he throws him into the hand dryer, throws him out of the stall, throws him on the ground, and punches his stomach. If you want to see a REAL ass kicking, watch Diamond vs Ronnie in The Player's Club. Those females went just as hard as two men fighting each other!(The fact that they were enemies off set too helped to add to how real their fight scene looks)

This film is so great, at its core its a harsh criticism of television used as an electronic babysitter by parents. In the background in one scene you see Ren from Ren and Stimpy smashing a TV, it foreshadows the ending. And the whole film is building towards the courtroom climax in the background of the plot. I really like the climax of the film, it is so much more insightful than most other comedies. Also, Jim's performance is amazing.
