Jim Valley is an American singer, songwriter, musician, philosopher and educator. Jim began his musical journey with the band The Viceroys in the late 50’s, who a few years later would become one of Seattle’s most popular bands at the time. Then in the mid 60’s there would come a stint as guitarist and co-lead singer with Don & The Goodtimes. Finally, Paul Revere asked Jim to come on board his band The Raiders to replace their guitarist who had left to join the National Guard. And in 1966, Jim did just that. He would stay with the band for a year, leaving in 1967. Mr. Valley then went solo for a period trying his hand at crafting and releasing his own material. After forming a couple of short-lived groups in the early 70’s, a trip to Europe in 1977 found Jim street performing. Then having finally moved back to the Seattle area in the late 70’s Mr. Valley, found his life’s calling, Rainbow Planet, a program to help children open up and express themselves through music, dance and art. Starting out locally, this “musical ministry” has expanded to reach children all over the world.
