Said it before on the others and I’ll say it again The best documented narrowboat holiday videos you will see on KZbin! Saddens me watching them knowing you and Trish are no longer together and that Harry has passed :(

Well Jim after a couple of weekends on the Leeds Liverpool we finally did a week last week and took in the foulridge tunnel. Used your great videos as reference to help. Thoroughly enjoyable experience although heavily busy with locks and swing bridges as you know. The only disappointment other than the appalling weather of late was the fact loads of places we were hoping to call into were closed or closed down :( Cross keys at east Marton ( closed Down) Anchor inn and salterforth ( closed ) Cafe at top lock at Greenberfield ( closed down) But we had a good week . Would probably do a more relaxing canal next time though with less locks and swing bridges

Be extra careful not to bang into other boats. That must have been quite the annoyance to the lady in the boat you banged into. Glad to see it wasn't too bad for the other boat. Great videos!

I am from the West of Ireland, I have a wide beam barge on the river Shannon, which is connected to the Royal canal, Grand canal and the Shannon Erne waterway. Ye all will have to come and visit Ireland.
@jimhawkinswalkstheuk7 жыл бұрын
Hi Brendan, that's amazing. Trish and I have talked about going to Ireland. I once went fishing on the Grand Union canal at Prosperous, not far from Dublin, I think it was near Nass. That was the year Bobby Sands died. We had some tense moments as an English group of anglers. Later I once played in a rock band at Limerick. We have an old camper van with king size mattress in the back. We have just returned to UK in 2016 after 10 years in Bulgaria, so we have yet to explore much of UK and Irleland. We want adventure before dementia !!!!

Now, if you had been owners of a dog, he/she would have gladly eaten the burnt sausages from the BBQ! BTW who ended up with those? Another great vlog Jim & Trish, glad I've got four more to watch!
@jimhawkinswalkstheuk4 жыл бұрын
Hi Colin, Thanks for writing. I am delighted that you are obviously enjoying the vlog. We figured out that a fox got the sausages because there was a lot of clattering with the BBQ at 3 am. I hope you enjoy the other episodes, May I ask, where do you live ? Kind Regards, Jim

Hi Trish, Jim and Harry. Fab viewing. A really nice relaxing watch and only on day 3. What recording and editing equipment do you use ? It's superbly done. Surely you are pro's at it ? Here's looking forward to the rest of your journey. (Y)

Hi Stuart. I have to be honest and say that your comments mean a lot to me, but not in an egotistical way, however, I take a pride in making good films about all kinds of subjects. I hope you have the patience to watch all of the episodes which will give you the full story. Trish and I used to make wedding videos as a way of gathering funds to buy good cameras and editing equipment. To answer your question, I use Bogart for Windows edit suite. I have several old machines called Casablanca. I was made in the USA, but they are all obsolete now. I used to play in a Jimi Hendrix tribute band. If you check out my site you will find many concerts from when Trish and I lived in Bulgaria and we played a lot in Eastern Europe. Also, I love to film birds. We had an apartment in Sofia, BG. I got great close ups of feeding birds, and also film of us getting wild birds feeding from the palm of our hands. Please check it out. Thank you again for your kind comments. May I ask, where do you live ?

Hi Jim. Yes, I live in the town of Burntwood in Staffordshire. I've booked a canal boat holiday for the family in the summer on the Llangollen Canal so wanted to see how it was done. We normally do day boat hire every other year but we're now going to try a week. It's great watching the three of you in your adventure and its great to see how its done. I'm on day 6 now and I'll be sure to watch your other video's too. Great viewing. Cheers, Stu.

Why, when you know you getting on the water for seven days, did'nt you get waterproof camera's?
@jimhawkinswalkstheuk6 жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, Firstly thanks for watching our holiday video. The reason we didn't use waterproof cameras is simply that this was a one off adventure on a narrow boat holiday, and the cost of waterproof cameras was out of the question. With respect I am an amateur, not a professional, therefore my existing cameras did 99% of the film work adequately without the need for spending silly money to do anything better
@Tuitjemobiel6 жыл бұрын
Ok. did'nt know that. Good luck in the future. Loved the seven video's.

Hi Rob, thanks for watching all seven episodes. I am very encoraged to know that you enjoyed it enough to watch the full story. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm for our Holiday video. Kind Regards to You
