Thank you. I'm 61 and your humor but also your kindness to make available these videos. Regardless of what is said this is what it means to me. 2/2022 I was diagnosed with a neurological problem from a work accident. I went from 62 hours a week salary to not being able to do anything. NOT COMPLAINING! Its life. The point is at my lowest I had forgotten to laugh. I remember the release of emotional pain I had watching u. Your humor is relatable. I don't do Facebook and don't need a reply. I'm good being like 99.9 % of the world. I'm here but I'm ok not being noticed. I just wanted to share how your kindness helped someone. Thank you!!

The voice changes are his secret formula. It's so simple but goes unnoticed, which is why it works. What I mean is he uses those voice changes to represent other ppl, their thoughts or his thoughts. What this does, as you said, is add dimension. Specifically that dimension is multiple other characters, including spoken subtext. Jim's comedy is actually a one man show with him playing multiple characters, as opposed to telling funny stories or stories in a funny way like other comics. Jim in a way is like a ventriloquist with multiple puppets, but he found a way around being lame and using puppets like Jeff Dunham. The way he flows when he transitions into the different voices is unique to that it doesn't come off as if he is doing a one man show. Really you have to point it out, like I am to you, to even notice. The simple beauty to it not coming off as a one man show of skits is the lack of dialogue. The characters themselves never interact with each other. So he is telling a funny story after all, just thru the eyes of different ppl and perspectives at the same time. Always sunny in Philadelphia actually achieved this same nuance with their camera work. They add dimension by telling their story by literally filming it in multiple camera angles at once and editing it together in a way that makes you see the events from all the characters perspective at the same time. Anyway, Jim is super talented, unique and funny.

Jim is comedic genius because he talks about everyday items and activities and makes them ridiculously hilarious. That's a feat in itself. But then he's even able to do it without cussing, which puts him in a league all his own in the realm of stand-up comedy.

I find sometimes that the occasional F-bomb adds a degree of emphasis to a premise or a punchline, depending on who you are.

One of my friends was going to go to an exercise class and the woman told her to wear loose fitting clothes. The silence when my friend stared at her was priceless right before she told the woman if she had loose fitting clothes she wouldn't be paying to exercise. 😆 It was 15 yrs ago and I still laugh about it.

I'd been badly abused by a gang of men who were cray, But what I saw made me guffaw and was a great help to healing the PTSD acquired from those guys who in their eyes felt they were above the law. He's the most relatable comic I've ever heard. So good. My favorite workout is taking care of my own garden. I rarely use power tools and try to do as much as I can with hand powered tools. The people I know who have health club memberships, go running, etc. but pay someone else to do their gardening, painting, cleaning, etc. for them crack me up. They pay for a place to exert themselves, like Jim says even pay someone to make them work out, meanwhile, they pay someone else to do exertions that actually accomplish something. :)

To be fair, the marathon bit was golden and true. My first marathon I told the college professor I was TA'ing for in grad school that I was running, and she told me she was handing out water with her son's Boy Scout Troup.
