Jimi is ur favorite guitarists favorite guitarist. he did more in 4 years with just the influence of guitar alone then any guitarist has done in their entire career.

@@Deedee-ee1sg my job is to educate the uneducated. obviously you donrt play guitar. if you did, you would automatically realize hendrix is not rock at all. but his use of feedback and distortion miss identified him as rocvk by all ntyhe copiers of his day, including black sabbath, deep purple and pink floyd. their attemptred mimicry led to the foundation of heavy metal. hendrix is considered a founding of heavy metal but jimi himself was a blues man who was charting new musical ideas entirely on a differentb path than rock. no one could catergorize his music, it fell outside all music boundaries. so the rock establishment called him a rock guitarist while hendrix was aptly described as 'a cross between mozart and beethoven', by the bass player of his own group 'Band of Gypsies'. and of course chuck berry, the rocfk and roll king was an accomplished blues guitarist first. in fact blues is the foundation of all modern music, icluding rock, rock and roll, rap ,hiphop and jazz.

That mad moment of Hendrix made rock and roll history, in fact even if he didn't set his guitar on fire he still would have made rock and roll history anyway (which he did), because he was an iconic guitarist. Also I wouldn't say he came across as a wanker, he actually came across as quite a down to earth person, that fair enough liked to indulge in drugs but that was his choice. So I wouldn't personally call him a wanker. Personal opinion :)

There isn't a solo today played by a guitarist that Jimi couldn't play, their are plenty of solos that nobody came close to duplicating that Jimi played here's two. Power of Love by Jimi Hendrix and the band of gypsies, and Machine Gun, on the same album. Nobody can play those two songs no where close to how Jimi played them. This is why I say Jimi was the greatest guitarist ever because most of his solos can't be duplicated even with the modern technology of today, and he did it more then fifty years ago.
