My brother was a huge Hendrix fan. About 20 years ago, we met up in Seattle and went to a Rock Museum there where this white guitar was displayed right out in the open (not in a glass case). It was behind ropes and had laser beams passing in front of it to be the security system. he said to me, " I just have to touch it" and then started to reach for it. That's when the alarm went off. haha . Then a security guard appeared out of no where and told him that he was NOT to attempt that again or he would be escorted from the building. So, we went about the rest of the displays and as we were about to leave, he said, "let's go back to Jimi's guitar". When we got there, he reached out past the laser beams and touched it! haha. Needless to say, we both were escorted to the door. He was so happy that he touched it! What I didn't know was that he had terminal cancer and died 10 months later. I think of Billy every time I see that guitar. Rock on Bill

It's amazing how Hendrix makes playing a upside down strat looking so natural, everything this guy did as a musician guitarist, live performer and recording Artist were just beyond words to describe. A man truly ahead of his time and still is relevant today.

I guess I and others near my age (66) are a part of the ever dwindling number who were around when Jimi was still alive, listening to the records as they were released, Hendrix's new album or the on-air introduction by the DJ's of the new one by Hendrix, etc. Those were interesting times, not all good nor all bad and I'm glad I was there for it. Miss ya, Jimi.

Dude seeing that guitar just now was surreal. Like, he held that guitar. His sweat, tears and passion was poured into it. And it’s just sitting there on display all alone without Jimi to play it anymore. So wild man.

What an amazing place! I always enjoy when museums have handwritten lyrics and also when they have an item that was worn and then a photo of the person wearing it. Thankfully these things land in the right hands of the people that preserve them. Can’t wait to see more...

The Holy Grail of legendary Rock n Roll guitars! I'm not a musician but have great appreciation for the time and dedication devoted to perfect their craft ,especially Hendrix, who is in a league all his own and if I were in close proximity to that guitar it would definitely be tempting to wanna touch it. Jordan, im guessing you Felt kinda like u were on cloud nine or walking on sunshine when u touched it all those years ago!! 😁🌞🙌🎸

It originally was called emp for experience music project. It had a science fiction exhibit a few years later and I guess it morphed into both snd renamed mopop a few years ago. I think Frank Ghery designed the building. The Cornell statue was dedicated in late 2018 with his wife and kids there. Matt Cameron and Kim Thayil were there too along with other celebs.

I read an article wher the guy that was given the guitar to clean it up, cut the strings off to restring it, but after it was to late he realized it those strings that played the Star Spangled Banner at wood stock. When he went back to the trash the janitor had already emptied the trash, so all he had left was short pieces of the strings from the headstock.

The Jimi room was special because Jimi was Paul Allen's favorite. I probably will always call it EMP. I don't get the constantly renaming places for other people or other reasons. Experience Music Project was Paul Allen's baby and it should still be called EMP. The first time I went there, they had a Janis Joplin display, and there was one of the boa's she wore around her neck. I just lost it. I stood there and cried like a baby. I've always loved her and seeing just opened up all those emotions. It is an amazing place to go and see for anyone who loves music. Stay safe in the snow!

Okay.. A stupid question.. But how.. Or why is a Mixing desk a sucker...?
@moimeme78394 жыл бұрын
Old mixing desk are quite rare and the analog technology thing is still very prised, they talk about that in the recording video of Lamb of god while they record with that type of material and the album is an epic one. That technology gets things very complicated to accomodate final mixing, that’s why it’s not much used today. Recording with these is pure tone
