It's strange when people start talking about scientific facts like evolution in a prescriptive way like regarding medical science. Evolution is a fact like gravity is a fact. Gravity's existence doesn't mean we shouldn't have planes or ladders or that people getting thrown out of a window is a good thing. Biologists don't claim evolution *should* happen, just that it does. That's one of the main things Creationists don't understand when they talk about Social Darwinism.

@@jamestcatcato7132 Well Natural selection goes on every day. Look dude! Just that what we can see in our mere short lives, it just reinforces the everyday and that we can only see it but change will occur further as the ancient record shows that. Some more than other species like sharks. There's always been the need for sharks and how they do it, so their change has gone much more slowly than ours. This has been shown but proven. When you were about 6 weeks old in the womb, you had the milk-line ridge called the mammalian milk line, which goes from your current nipples down to your groin, that were forming a row of nipples like many other mammals. They them atrophied except for your current two. Some people have a third or forth nipple, usually un-migrated to be on that line. This is your and everybody else's history. This is only the start.

There has been dinosaur skin and feathers recovered, and they were able to demonstrate that particular feather was black. (Little remnants of color in the fossil. Very clever analysis. Also, there have been reconstructions of dinosaur (T.Rex if I remember correctly) that gave a _plausible_ idea of what it could have sounded like. Nothing is known enough to be certain, but enough is known that we can say we are not totally ignorant of what dinosaurs looked and sounded like (just mostly ignorant).

One of the most profound things to read in the Selfish Gene was the section on the diversity of genealogy between males and females due to the vastly different evolutionary forces. Almost heresy to mention today. I remember thinking when I read that section that the evolutionary forces driving males and females apart are so strong and have been present since the dawn of life that's is amazing that males and females even resemble each other at all.

I love the T-Shirt contest! That was fun. I thought for sure Jack had it...CONGRATS ON THE WIN JIM...sucks you stretched out your fav T. I get it. MY OCD is how my cloths fit. It's a nightmare for anyone shopping with me and probably quite humorous for the undercover security watching me go in and out of the dressing room with 90 pairs of jeans to try on. Back to Evolution with Richard Dawkins!
