I just went through and listened to the whole discography of the Beastie Boys and i realized that as a teen you do not appreciate how a group can grow in character, sound and influence. that fact that these 3 bad brothers we know so well was able to put out solid hit after hit while not sticking to one "genre" or sound and being on the same page for nearly 30 years is remarkable. I remember cranking Paul's boutique, check your head and ill communication while skating for hours back in the early 90's. Get it together with Q-Tip is one of my all time must listens. Thank you for aiding in the soundtrack to my teenage years .

I was super excited when Timberlake was on last night, but THIS. This has made every second of my being isolated at home since March 13th, with 2 teenage, desperately trying not to lose my everloving mind worth it all!! I had a juke box and a lot of songs were Stevie Wonder, Elton John. But there were others like Beejees, Michael Jackson,...Who's the guy who sang "Babe"... That was played a lot in my store. Kids hung out there. There was one who was molested by her father, who was my bread delivery man. I did all I could to make her feel safe and cared about. This is another reason why I think my uncle was a CIA man - Comet Pizza seemed to be a mimick of my store and I had a very clean place. Kids behaved AND I would kick out bullies. It sickened me to find out about Comet Pizza in my uncle's turf. And he pulled out all the plugs to make me lose my store - especially getting guys in town to lie about me to my father. They really got their jollies doing that!

Primus is actually my fav band, but the Beasties are the band of my life. I'm 40 now, and through Anthrax's guys t-shirts I got to know the Beasties back in 1991, an 11 year old me in São Paulo, Brasil. I immediately fell in love with King-Ad-Rock voice in "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" (It used to be played in some Rock Radios in São Paulo back then), then I somehow found out who I am, I've been that funny guy (ad-Rock) my whole life, I even looked like him a bit, and through the 90's I used to ask anyone who was around me if I looked like Ad-Rock....Wow, to this day, I think that Ad-Rock on Hold it Now video is the most handsome guy ever, I wish I could have my hair like that, my skin like that, and funny thing is that up to this day, me being 40, I catch myself trying to look like Ad-Rock on Hold it Now video....hahahah I can say that my biggest dream (literally) is to someday have a 10 minutes talk to Horovitz, and ask him where he got those faces he made on videos from. And give him a hug, and tell him how he influenced me my whole life, the way I wear, the way I wear my cap leaving my bangs out the cap. I learned English by translating the Beasties lyrics, and turned out I became an English Teacher. Sometimes I dream I'm talking to Ad-Rock, and he ignores me, what would be the biggest bummer in my life if this ever happens.... Wow, I love these guys, and hope someday I can give them a hug.
