When Joe wears sunglasses indoors it's part of the performance costume! You'll notice he'll also be wearing a sharkskin suit with his hair slicked back. All the big name blues musicians (The Wolf, Muddy, Johnny Lee, etc.) wore stuff like this on stage. So Jamel, find sumthin' else to poke fun at.
@AfkBoson3 жыл бұрын
Jamel, you say you don't know who Jimmy Barnes is and that points to a wealth of great music you need to keep alive that you have yet to cover, that is Australian rock. Jimmy Barnes, or Barnesy as he is known is Australia, is a national treasure. It would be a great moment if you were to cover his band, Cold Chisel, or even some of his solo music. Indeed, there is much Australian rock you have yet to, and need to cover.
@Nostromo21443 жыл бұрын
Yep, you just have to Google "aussie rock classics" to see some of the all-time greats. I also recommend The Church, Paul Kelly, Hoodoos and Angels, often overlooked Aussie bands that were absolutely pivotal to our rock scene from the 70s onwards.

What I love most about this is although all of these musicians are and were at the top of their game in their respective careers they still gave this track the respect it requires as they know that they are standing on the shoulders of Rock Legends in Deep Purple. I mean the Keyboards alone a total homage to John Lord. Amazing recording this and no doubt mind blowing for those who were in there recording it live. Out the park and right down the main drag.

This is gonna lead down a bunch of rabbit holes, but it will all be glorious! Love this jam. Great music by great musicians, to say the least. It's the kind of thing where you could just live in that world the music makes and forget anything else. About the eye contact--some of that is musicians giving cues to each other on breaks, riffs etc. All instrumental musicians do it because it helps with expression and timing. But some of it is just 'damn we're havin fun!' :D
