The whole Barnes family can sing include Jimmy's wife Jane, Mahalia is amazing and should be recognised more here than just being Jimmy's daughter, she has without doubt one of the best female voices in Australia. I think David made it because he doesn't have Jimmy's last name so he made it on he own. Which is what you kinda have to do in Australia, you can't trade off a family name. She a star in her own right but not being paid her dues. 🤩❤

What I really like about your reactions Nick is that it is so obvious that they are spontaneous; if you had watched any of the videos that I have seen your reactions to before you recorded, you deserve an Oscar or Emmy or whatever the KZbin equivalent is for great acting!! It would be extremely difficult to convince me that your reactions are anything but real. I am getting a real buzz out of 'seeing' these performances through your eyes. It is an indictment on the Australian music industry that Mahalia has not been recognised for her talent and ability. Our radio airwaves are swamped with mediocre talent from abroad but local talent like this is not at the top of the playlists.

Because while I enjoy Joe's singing, I think she has the much better voice. As far as the Clapton/King version goes......I liked their version too probably because I have been playing guitar for over 50yrs myself. But something else you have to take into consideration is their ages.....I mean they were pretty old when that cd came out.....what is Clapton like 75 now or something... and BB King died in like 2015 at the age of 90. I didn't think their version was too bad for a couple of old guys......wink
