Two of my most favourite Aussie singers EVER. Barnsey and Farnsey, together👍👍❤️❤️ with a little bit of Johnny Diesel thrown in for good measure. Jimmy on his 'Soul Deep' part of his life. This is a fantastic song❤❤ John Farnham also sung Chisel's When The War Is Over....fantastic version. Poor John. I doubt he's going to sing again. Just had surgery on his throat. Thats a sad loss right there😢 Fantastic man, always seemed happy and up for anything. He ALWAYS came to our Perth telethons. Was King of Pop for a year or two as well. I've been listening to him since he sang 'Sadie' (the Cleaning Lady). Saw him on his Whispering Jack tour. He sang with Little River Band for a while there. Best known for his song 'You're The Voice', another song that EVERYONE sings when it's played. One FANTASTIC cover he did was 'Help' by the Beatles...a slowed down, mellow version...have a listen👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🇭🇲🇭🇲

Yes, this is Motown cover song. John Farnham IS the top dog of singing in Australia. Even Jimmy Barnes admits this in the newly released film documentary about John's career named, 'Finding The Voice'. And John is known as 'The Voice'. This is partly to do with his world-wide hit, 'You're The Voice.' John has a big vocal range, a powerful voice, can sing in over 20 genres, has a career spanning 6 decades with top hits in every one and is a consummate showman. He is well-loved and Australia's favourite musical son. Always see and hear John LIVE, especially in concert, where his Soul shines. This event is the ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) Awards. The cream of Australia's music industry is there. The ending of the song by the trio is 'a cappela'/'a cappella' (Italian, meaning 'of the chapel') singing which is pure voice with no instrumental backing and it is like a choir singing , though it can be done in other ways. The third singer and guitarist is Mark Lizzote, aka 'Diesel' who has his own band and is well-known for his music and is Jimmy's brother-in-law. The guy on the guitar is Mark Lizotte a.k.a. Johnny Diesel; Jimmy's brother-in-law. Barnsey did an album of Motown covers a while back and on this he got his mate john Farnham to help him out...(not that he needed any help). I'll add my voice to those recommending you check out John Farnham with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra doing The Beatles "Help". Watch that and you will understand why he is known as "The Voice" here in Australia. JF is a national treasure and you won't find an Aussie who will say a bad word about him; from metal heads to emos to doofers; everybody loves this man. He has been belting out the songs since 1967. Along with Jimmy Barnes the two greatest voices Australia has produced.

Guitarist - Johnny Diesel - a great singer in his own right but did so much with Jimmy over the years. Jimmy released an Album called 'Soul Deep' and toured - he recently did a re record of a lot of these songs celebrating 30 years since it's release - one of the songs he re recorded but this time with one of the original singers from the 60's that made it a hit 'Soothe Me' - released last year - with Sam Moore (86 at the time) it is a great song and they both sounded awesome - worth a listen

1991 I had a reversible single tape of that for the car, same front & back as well as self initiating, lol!!. Freddy Mercury suggested John to replace him in Queen but John had a young family & stayed down under. The guitarist there, Diesel, is a lead singer, soloist & composer in his own right, as well as Jimmy's brother in law. They are all good mates.

Nah mate this was Jimmy Barnes "Soul Deep" era when he started to slick back his hair and sing more soul R&B. Diesel (guitarist) is an artist in his own right but is also Jimmys brother in law😂 John Farnham' .....well he's just another Aussie rabbit hole. Anything by him as long as it's live, he's has a pitch perfect voice. Try him doing "Black dog" by led zeplin. It will blow your mind !!

This was from early 90s and Jimmy's Souk Deep album (soul covers album) and he changed his loom to the suit and slicked hair. John Farnham gas been in the music game since the late 60s. The guitarist is Mark Lizzote ( stage name is Diesel) and he is Jimmy's brother in law (they are married to sisters). The occasion for the performance was at the ARIA awards night (Australian music awards) the band was most likely required to mime play except for the guitar and Jimmy and John. (Can thank Cold Chisel in 1981 for that, but that's another story 😂)

Farnham has a very special voice and he’s a special kind of person most of us really love but, back when, his fans were so crazy about him whatever he sang, and some of those songs weren’t that great imo, and may not interest you, but you could look at AC/DC’s Long Way To The Top. If you’ve got any interest in rock opera, Farnham played Jesus in JCS and his performance of Gethsemane was superb, I don’t think the other Jesus’s met the bar.
