JIMMMAAAAY!!!!❤❤ He's 67 now. He makes my heart swell. He'll be appearing at Sandalford Winery, in Perth, as part of Spring in the Valley festivals, in November. Definitely booking a ticket to that event!!❤❤❤ Omg.... JIMMMAAAAY!!! Now you need to listen to 'Breakfast at Sweethearts', or for a more rock number 'You Got Nothin' I Want'..... Your face says it all, expresses the feelings of all of us that grew up with Chisel/Jimmy Barnes... AWESOME!!!❤👍👍👍🇭🇲🇭🇲

Love to listen to your reactions, especially this type of music. Barnsey and Bonamassa did a collab on their trubute to Deep Purple, called Lazy. It, also, is fantastic.

Written by Don Walker (from Cold Chisel fame). Love how Jimmy whips Bonamassa home on that last solo. The ending is just beautiful.

You can see here the end result of DECADES of perfecting your craft in all the musicians here. Truly gifted and supremely talented. As has been mentioned here, the drummer is Jacky Barnes, Jimmy's son. He hasn't perfected his craft over decades, but he'll get there when he's been playing for as long as the others present.

Not written by Jimmy Barnes but by Cold Chisel’s keyboards player Don Walker , son of a sugarcane grower & teacher mother, who graduated from University with a Degree in Physics before co-founding Cold Chisel in 1973. Brian May of Queen was also a Physics Graduate (& latter completed his PhD in Astrophysics). Don Walker is a much loved and lauded writer, of songs & books, in Australia.

Jimmy Barnes is like a good wine, as he’s ageing, he’s just getting better and better. He and Joe Bonamassa are a match made in heaven. I really love this one. Take a look at Joe Bonamassa and Mahalia Barnes, Riding with the Kings, or even Mahalia Barnes singing, Nasty Gal. Mahalia is amazing too and has been a background singer for Joe Bonamassa. Jimmy also does a great duet with Sam Moore, Soothe me.

Have seen Joe live six times and met him twice. Humble, quiet and reserved….and he is one of the top guitar players EVER. He has blues in his soul coupled with off the planet guitar skills. Find more Joe….you will be amazed and become a fan.

Hey bro thanks heaps for the amazing reaction to these legends. Jimmy’s vocals combined with Joes phenomenal guitar skills take this song to another level. Heard the sad news about Tina Turner passing away today. Would be great if you can react to Tina Turner doing a duet with Jimmy Barnes “simply the best” and Jimmy’s brother in law Diesel plays the guitar in that one

G'day Rory, Jimmy has just released a new single called johnny's gone, the album drops on Friday. It's a great song, a rockabilly number with the guy from the stray cats, Jules Holland, the bloke from the living end ( couldn't remember a couple of names sorry) ,the band is called Barnestorming. I love it and think you will too. I'm sure some of your great subscribers will know the names I forgot.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the collab Barnsey did with John Farnham aka Farnsey...the old Sam and Dave song When Something is Wrong with My Baby...killer vocals...or the recent one Barnsey did with Sam Moore! He collabs beautifully...respect for other musos.

It’s interesting this song reminded you of Cold Chisel, it was written by Don Walker, Chisel keyboard player, in about 1990. He dropped his young daughter off to school and wrote most of Stone Cold while driving home. Don said he didn’t write it for Jim, but decided it was a perfect song for him. When Ian Moss and Jimmy recorded the song and played it back Jimmy said the hair on the back of their necks stood up because it sounded so Cold Chisel like. It was first released in May 1993 as the 3rd single from Jimmy’s 6th album, Heat. This version with Jo Bonamassa was released about 2014. For your interest the drummer is Jimmy’s son Jackie Barnes.
@clmac529 Жыл бұрын
This is correct, and it was the first collaboration Jimmy and Mossy did together from the Chisel break up. Others from the band had worked together but none involved Jimmy. The guitar solo etc on the original recording is very similar and very much Ian Moss like.

Check out Joe and Jimmy doing the Deep Purple classic Lazy. Then check out Joe and Beth Hart doing I'd Rather Be A Blind Girl. Then check out Joe and Jimmy's daughter Mahalia doing Riding With The King. You'll have an idea who Joe is then. Joe is a deep deep hole. His own work and his work with Black Country Communion beside Glenn Hughes is all great work.

Mate you won me as a fan forever.... with stating Otis Redding was your favourite.... I was born in 1968... and Sitting on the Dock of the Bay was the number one song in Australia.... I have loved that song for my whole life... so nearly 55 years (born in December 68)..... I'm loving your reactions.... you have a true 'goose bump' reaction to music. (You do know that is a rare thing right? The physical response to music?) I've always had it... been a singer and cornet player my whole life.... goosebumps and all... picked a lot of new songs that would become hits..... because the goose bumps told me so :D

Yes, same here, singers & actors; like Linda Ronstandt with her first outing with Different Drum with The Stone Ponies. Took a couple years before she “reappeared” as a solo, but I just knew she was going to “ be big” & she was. Ditto Guy Pearce on Neighbours which I didn’t watch but flicked across one evening & caught GP. His character was “real”. There was something about how he played his role that was beyond what a 15/16 YO should have been able to do. Ditto Hugh Jackman in his first episode of Corelli on the ABC. It was like… who is this guy? And the chemistry between he & Deborra-Lee Furness on screen was tangible. Then I saw a recorded musical from West End, London, Oklahoma, in which he sang the Leading Male role & won a much coveted Olivier Award. In his 3rd role in a musical, his 1st out of Australia. Yikes! Then two “ small Aussie movies”: Paperback Hero (a funny,romantic lead role) & Erskinville Kings (an completely antithetical dark, brooding role) both made in Australia. His “range” was obviously huge! He was already married to Deborra-Lee & then John Travolta gave him ( a Hollywood unknown) a leading role in Swordfish. Australia lost Hugh to the USA, but I could see that happening from the very first time I saw him on that “ small screen” mini series. Those who have real talent and potential give me goosebumps too!

I think all great musicians are great listeners. I’ve seen Bonamassa a few times with a lot of old guys I’ve always liked and it works like it should. Barnes is also a great listener and his duets are also great. That’s how it should be. The guitarist Bonamassa most admires is another Australian, Tommy Immanuel, idk if you’d like him; he’s sometimes more guitar than song but the way he can play off others is exceptional.

OMG just realised you haven't seen any Teskeys Brothers performances. Josh Teskey is Otis Redding back on earth. He even writes perfect Otis songs. You are going to love these brothers from Melbourne. Rain is a jaw- dropper (the colors session) as is Pain and Misery, Crying Shame and their encore finale at every concert (been to two already this year) Hold Me, live at the Forum. They just released three bangers: Oceans of Emotions, Take My Heart (my fave) and London Bridge (maybe my next fave). They gave a scintillating floor- thumping sold-out performance in Oslo two nights ago. PS: Josh Teskey did a collab with Jimmy Barnes in 21, Do you love me. It's amazing and fun. Jimmy is on fire again. The video was shot at Byron Bay, I hear. Great surfers' paradise.
