Jimmy Bell | 1952-2022

RANGERS Football Club are today devastated to announce the death of our much-loved, legendary kit man, Jimmy Bell.
Jimmy, who has served the club for over 30 years and been a friend and confidant to numerous generations of players and staff, will be so sadly missed by everyone at the Rangers Football Club.

A man who lived and breathed Rangers quite literally. From team bus driver to kit man it didn’t really matter to Jimmy or Rangers what he did as long as they had each other. An absolute legend of our beloved club that had epitomised Rangers standards to players and staff and what it means to be part of this great club. The respect he had from players, staff, management, board and also the fans is something extremely rare in football especially if they aren’t a player or manager and that alone just shows how special our wee Jimmy Bell was. There will be many a grown man, like myself, who will shed a tear or few tonight as we have lost the grandfather figure of our club. Jimmy is a true club legend who guided the club, staff, players and fans through the worst of times and got to be a part of some of our greatest moments in the clubs history. He gave his life to our club. Many a manager and player came and went but Jimmy was always there. The respect he garnered off of all cannot even be written about. It would not do this legend justice. He was a leader, a confidant, a father figure and always displayed the qualities our proud club thrives on. He was a major figure in guiding our great club back to where we belonged. In my opinion, Jimmy should be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was everything the club, players, staff and fans thrived to be. He actually lived the life and was Mr Rangers. We should also dedicate an award annually to a staff member who shows the same qualities as Jimmy when we hand out our end of season awards. The Jimmy Bell Award would be cherished as much as the POTY award. Thoughts and prayers with his family, friends and everyone else who was influenced by Jimmy.
