I can’t imagine a world where there was no Jimmy Buffett. Like a bad SciFi novel. What would a beach trip actually be like? Whatever he brought us, that vacation feeling. I cherish the day I learned you don’t have to go anywhere to go there. We are all rolling with the punches, but glad there was a Jimmy Buffett along this reality. Oh and yes, thank you Delaney for doing this series. Well done. Thank you.

OMG Ms Delaney! You're recording for posterity here. Good daughter! You bring things out he'd never share with anyone other than you - his trusted daugther! Thank you for sharing! He is after all, a pirate starting to look at 80 and his story needs to be told in detail! There's so many stories, you can make a career out of them. One story I remember is the gulf coast oil spill benefit concert when he showed up and another guy who was supposed to be there didn't? It was your dad's day! There was magical power there, one of his best! PS - Your mom is an absoulte beauty which rubbed off on you, your dad is lucky to have her, and they're both blessed to have you as their daughter. Thank you for surviving fame so far and I believe you are becoming a good story teller. It may not be comfortable for you, but keep working at it, you have great things ahead!

My dad introduced me to Jimmy growing up in the 80’s. He was a Ranger in the Army and I remember him singing this song often as he was getting ready for work in the mornings and polishing his boots. However, I never heard this song by JB because my dad never had the album until years and years later. It was like once I officially heard JB sing it that I fell in love with the song all over again. I can't carry tune to save my life, and my knowledge of that fact has helped save many an ear over many a year. I simply do not sing out loud in too many places, with a rare exception being where "adult" beverages might be served and those times are few and far between. They weren't serving adult beverages in Afghanistan in 2010-2011 but damned if in those wee hours when none of my crew were up and about, this was one of about five JB tunes that buffetted my brain and kept finding its way to my own (?) voice. It's like I didn't have a choice ... like I was talkin (singing?) in tongues. It was just crazy because in those times (at least in my mind), I didn't sound half-bad; which kinda told me it was way past time for me to get back home.... She's a railroad lady, just a little bit shady ... On a bus to Kentucky, and home once again.
