How did you spend your quarantine? Jimmy Buffett asked the fans to tell him which songs, not in his usual repertoire, would they like to hear? Within minutes, over 10,000 tracks were requested. Some songs he had to re-learn as it's been so long since he played them! Directed by Jimmy's daughter, Delaney Buffett, the docuseries is an inside look of the stories and inspirations of the songs.
The series has become a fan favorite which of course evolved into recording his favorites with producer/bandmate Mac McAnally and Coral Reefers Peter Mayer and Eric Darken. Available at: smarturl.it/SYDKBH

Like so many others, my thoughts and prayers go to the Buffett family. We fans are heartbroken so I can’t imagine what the family is going through. “Songs You Don’t By Heart” was genius!!! As are most things Jimmy and company came up with. He may be gone but his music will live on forevermore. And thanks to Delaney for asking your Dad the questions and getting him to tell the stories behind the songs. Amazing stuff!!!!! RIP Jimmy, Fins Up!

Columbus, Ohio, 1980, Hot Dog and a Road Map tour. My beautiful wife and I had seats in the front row, and wormed our way backstage after the show, saying we had a little gift for Jimmy - a nice chunk of pure Peruvian flake. We all snuck off to the men's room to do a line or three, talking about our brand-new babies. After about five minutes or so of snorting lines and tellin' lies, I got a T-shirt signed by Jimmy and Fingers, just to prove I made it backstage. All my friends were jealous. It was a lotta fun and a memory that even Alzheimer's won't erase. And btw, Jimmy, there isn't a song of yours that my wife and I don't know by heart! Thanks for all the music and memories!

We just lost Jimmy Buffett days ago! What a loss. These videos are precious! Jimmy recognized that we live in a diverse country and Key West really magnified that. It is something we need to protect. Love the story about Steve Goodman and John Prine taking Jimmy under their wing in Chi-Town. Thank you, Delaney, for the great looks into Jimmy Buffett's life of songwriting. I didn’t know Jimmy & Steve Goodman were acquainted but it would figure that the paths of two such amazing songwriters would cross. Steve & John Prine were already in my vinyl when Jimmy's music was in the slot, around 1974. As good a storyteller as Steve Goodman was (and he truly was, as was John), Jimmy's stories are right up there too. I'm sifting through these videos you created with your dad, Delaney, and my heart aches knowing all three are gone. I thank heaven that their music populates my collection, so the memories are kept alive and I can reach back and pull one up any old time. Its tough knowing what your Dad was facing in the years before he passed. The rigors of treatment aren't for the weak, so it's great to see Jimmy looking fit & healthy despite it all. I'm not longer a spring chicken. No longer a concert goer. So I'm happy that my misspent youth was filled with nights (very occasional afternoons) & music from guys like Jimmy, John & Steve. Fair winds & following seas. (ps: when the Cubbies finally won the pennant after a 108 year drought, it’s great knowing that Jimmy's heart was lifted as Steve's was. ⚾️)

For Forty years Jimmy was like a cousin that you knew you were going to see by the end of the summer at Jones Beach, or in the winter I'd catch a show in Florida. Special concerts or fundraisers that he joined in were always a bonus. Now to hear him reminiscing about his life and songs to Delaney it's a priceless gift. He always kept his family life private, except for a few times when the girls would join him on stage. Losing Jimmy has hit me as hard as losing a family member or close friend. We will not get to see him this summer, his concerts were always a family event, and after the loss of my parents, it felt like a way to still honor our tradition and be close to them. Thank you Delaney for these Videos that share more of your Dad with us. We share in your family's grief, loss and heartbreak.💔🌴🦈
