Let's see if a team like Detroit or Portland would get him, and then let him work his "Himmy Butler" magic. His success in Miami can be attributed just as much to coaching and support from his teammates than him alone. Some people pretend it was only him that showed up and made the team a winner. He's still a good player but is he worth the maintenance to keep him performing at a high level? And losing the opportunity to get free agents by tying up the team's cap? Yes, he deserves some respect but agreeing to his demands would ruin any kind of championship chances for Adebayo and Herro. If they weren't traded before, no way will they be traded now. I hope Jimmy and his agent come to a conclusion to agree to be on a discounted extension so the Heat can get better talent with the money they save. What if Beal ISNT who goes back to Miami? What if Riley pulls off getting Booker instead? It solves a similar problem for Phoenix, as Beal is just a slightly worse version of Booker. Butler makes the Suns fit better as a team, gives them a different skillset. Miami can send their 2029 & 2031 picks as well, which Phoenix can then use to improve their roster if they want. Then in a separate wink/nod trade to stay CBA compliant, Miami can send Ware or Jovic to Phoenix to give them another asset/young big. Phoenix gets a better team fit and some asset flexibility, Miami gets their long-term star to pair with Bam (and moves Herro back to a 6th man role)

Financially and in basketball. And realistically, I honestly thought he would "endure" the rest of the contract to try and see if any other team would give him the contract he thinks he deserves. Truth be told he's a great player, but he's 36 (or almost) and no other club (apart from some desperate club with cap space) would offer him a better contract in terms of money than the Heat. If he gets traded to whichever team, there is no chance Butler will walk away for nothing. Nobody is going to believe his bluff because A. Teams that might want to sign him have no cap space to give him his money B. Teams with cap space don't want to give him his money If he opts out of his $52M player option, he will never see that kind of money ever again.

Just get rid of guaranteed contracts
@SportingLogically15 сағат бұрын
Good luck getting the NBAPA to agree to that haha
@zergmare715 сағат бұрын
@SportingLogically oh I know, but it is the reason these players barely play because why should they?
@saul-goodman14 сағат бұрын
I think even guaranteed contracts can be breached and therefore not paid out. Idk when that applies since we’ve got Kawhi and Ben Simmons who get paid to hang out with the team and watch games courtside, but it can happen
@zergmare714 сағат бұрын
@saul-goodman this has to be the worst era of basketball ever.... for sure contracts, players getting paid hundreds of millions, players just not playing for no reason, i could go on.
@johndebono187014 сағат бұрын
Well to be fair, the NBA started giving out guaranteed contracts in the 70s and it was never a problem for 4 plus decades. I think the not playing issue is more a combo of giving a few stars too much power and when you remember that a lot of these stars start training for the NBA at like 10, I assume the miles they put on their body before they are even on the court is the factor on one talks about.

I still think Heats best move is with the Bulls. If Bulls want to get their top 10 pick, do Butler, robinson and 2 1st for Lavine and Vucc. Miami gets better, bulls let jimmy walk or do sign and trade in offszn.

I just get tired of players forcing their way out of a teams.

If the Suns manage to swap Beal and his contract for Jimmy they would be ecstatic. The Heat needed a piece with Butler.
@streettoughfighting13 сағат бұрын
After the Dame trade bonanza I think front offices also got a bit more empowered to say you can ask for what you want but we will deal what makes sense to us. Hopefully the days of drama queens forcing their way out goes by the wayside.
@JaredTG.13 сағат бұрын
I've always found it ridiculous that front offices let other people make their choices for them. It's literally their job to build/manage the team. The players sign contracts, so unless a trade makes sense then oh well shouldn't have signed the deal if you didn't wanna stick around. Money really does mess with people's minds.
@mazzith11 сағат бұрын
The mavs can only make this work money wise if they give up four players; Pj Washington, Naji Marshall, Daniel Gafford and Maxi Kleber. IMO that WAY too much to give up for Butler.
@alexescutia48059 сағат бұрын
And Miami would want those guys either. Bad trade for both teams
@natus9913 сағат бұрын
One of a few stars who for most of his career was actually underpaid (in comparison to his peers and his production) - so no surprise he wants money/respect
@Austin-31610 сағат бұрын
If Butler isn't traded, I can see a holdout like Ben Simmons did a few years back.
@clickbait37539 сағат бұрын
jimmy can't afford to hold out like that, he's already 35 and he still has to convince miami or teams in free agency he's worth one last contract.
@mreos5812 сағат бұрын
You guys are only just now realising Jimmy’s been lying about this “competitive spirit” bullshit 😂 if he wants to win take a pay cut, oh wait he doesn’t want to, and now won’t go to certain teams that don’t have a max contract spot for him hmmm 🤔
@benlagman17 сағат бұрын
why everyone's forgetting the raptors traded for kawhi knowing he might walk after that season just for them to win their first NBA crown?
@raheppe7 сағат бұрын
The idea that he has zero leverage is f'ing absurd. He can sit out and they will lose, they'll miss the playoffs, they won't get s good pick they'll get nothing for him at all. He holds massive leverage and pretending otherwise is absurd.
@igit_729614 сағат бұрын
I think Beal is still a very good player. Maybe overpayed, but still a good 2nd/3rd option.

How in the world is Miami going to be convinced to take on beal’s contract? Literally no way in hell it’s happening

I never thought I would live in a universe where Jimmy Butler might be out of the league before. Russell Westbrook. I don't really care per se about heat culture, but I guess Pat Riley really doesn't give a shit
@clickbait37539 сағат бұрын
if jimmy was just willing to take a reasonable extension with the heat, he could stay in the league until 40 lmao

Bro its crazy that you gotta use footage from last season of Jimmy Butler cause he barely played this year LOL.
@RobustMustache14 сағат бұрын
As a Pistons fan I would be furious if they acquired Beal. Detroit keeps getting lumped into a bunch of trades because they have cap space. Every time I see a trade involving the Pistons its just a terrible deal for Detroit.

I'd rather have Caitlin Clark than Jimmy Butler 😂
@mycabbages353812 сағат бұрын
He’s not worth the money he wants. He’s gonna have to come to terms with that. If he opts out, his new contract will be less. But he can go to a contender so he should be happy.

@lorddevil8634 сағат бұрын
What do you mean? Jimmy is on his final year in his contract for 50 mil. Kuminga is asking for a max around 200 mil for 4 years. We give up Kuminga, trade him, it's deal. Simple.

What about the lakers, they are in a better position than the suns asset wise. Rui, Vincent, Vanderbilt, Christie, and wood for jimmy.

And to make things worse, Butler lost two last games on purpose. There's no chance I'll put him in the Miami roster! He can cost me PO. Without his actions Miami could have 20-15, now they're 18-17
