Part of the reason is the players who say they "play the game the right way" do not play the game the right way. The lack of effort in the regular season (esp. defence), the flopping & complaining to referees, and self-centred player empowerment have all drastically reduced the product. Take out preseason completely because no one cares. This way you have ppl who are interested in early cup games and others who are more interested in the longer season and post season. 19:55 another way would be to make the key a one point zone and everything in mid-range a two. this way people have less on an incentive to sticking with dunks and layups making them expand the same. maybe now the whole game, start it at 5 mins left in the quarter.

Have The New York Knicks win a couple of Championships, problem solved. Got to get big markets like NY to care. And I'm not talking about their current fans. It will bring many new or old viewers.

The biggest problem in sports is online gambling…bad for sports and especially bad for kids that watch your channel.

The biggest problem is that at the beginning of the season not all fan base believe they have a chance to win. And they only speak of 4 teams and 1 player.

The NBA should find full time stars instead of part timers who play only when they want to.

Younger players being taught how to shoot also contributes to the "3-point problem". Back then, the only people who can really shoot are guards. No wonder more and more 3 pointers are being attempted - everyone can do it now.

The NFL is only more successful in America. Ratings aren't down across the world. Being more successful in America doesn't make you significantly more successful

It's hard to watch the games they're not competitive constant blowouts by the beginning of the third quarter. All the teams play the exact same now just horrible 3 after horrible 3. And I'm not even sure that the players themselves like playing like this. They don't look interested in the game.
@lothegreat178813 сағат бұрын
EXACTLY. 90% of the players play and act like they just clock in . They don’t care so why should we .

There’s more Avenues of Media. Tablets, Phones, Smart TV. Bunch of streaming services legal and illegal. Families don’t sit around and watch NBA games on the family TV with Cable anymore. Times Change its really not that hard to understand

And yet NFL is thriving.
@a_bloodshotgod13 сағат бұрын
Except the NFL literally crushes that silly idea. Take Christmas, where NONE of the NFL games were on broadcast TV, and were ONLY available on stream, yet they CRUSHED the NBA in viewership for each game by a horrendous amount. If you are a real fan of the NBA you need to stop making excuses for why the league sucks now.
@rallymurrah11 сағат бұрын
@@a_bloodshotgod Getting together for NFL games is still a Tradition. Not to mention Fantasy Football and how huge that is. Different sports, I don’t see the obsession with comparing the NBA to the NFL. It more so Compares to the MLB. What I mentioned in my original post is most definitely hurting the NBA. I’m not Making Excuses just giving reasoning and analysis of the issues. Instead of looking at things Black and white and looking for someone to Blame all the time like most of yall Tiny Brains

Jacking up threes is what's ruining it. The NBA used to be synonymous for dunks and posterizing. But now... We're relying on a self proclaimed goat that even didn't compete in a dunk contest and starting the superteam trend. We need rivalry.

Bro It's rigged.. you said everything but that, people know it's rigged at this point. Almost every fan that's old enough and is in a legal state has a betting app on their phone making MILLIONS of people rich everyday off of these sports and Vegas will always make a way to get the money back but i won't go to deep into that part. It's clear to see. It's way too much money being put into the apps/sportsfor it not to be at least somewhat rigged but on top of that NFL & NBA have partnered up with these betting apps and you clearly are sponsored by one on this video 😂 it's only going to get worse if they don't find a way to control it better. Refs are (in my opinion) the second bad reason the rating are down. Lastly, these players do not play defense like the old days (i know rules come into play with that). They only seem to focus on offense and then complain to the refs when they do not get a foul call. Players don't play as much anymore either, they don't take care of theirselves and or are just load managing and telling us they won't play back to backs now 🤦🏾♂️😂 Also you didn't bring up that Beyoncé performed on Christmas Day at the Ravens/Texans game at halftime and had all her fans tune into the game just for that.

Mann he skipped right over the gambling part smh forget everything else.. this is a MAJOR MAJOR problem and will def get worse. Prize picks this, fanduel that, draftkings this, bet MGM that. Its these LEAGUES actually messing the SPORTS up by allowing the players to tell us they not playing and the gambling.

The only problem with the NBA is the lack of defense & physicality & all the 3's. It is painful to watch. Allow physical defense again & bring back hand checking to fight the 3's.

Less Games...Maybe Less Playoff spots. Make them earn it...Bring back East vs West. Winner gets one more Playoff Spot for their Division. Same for the In Season Torunament...There are so much things you could do but hey...its the NBA

Leaving for other teams always happened. The first big forced trade was when Wilt Chamberlain left the World Champion 76rs to the Lakers. Then got hurt in the 1968 Finals. That hurt Wilt's legacy. But it laid the groundwork for Free Agency and the Players Union. Shaq, then LeBron later forced a trade to the Lakers. Wilt starred in alot of TV commercials because he was in Los Angeles.
