(4/7/2022) Sanford and Son (A Box in Town - episode) brought me here. Fred was impersonating Mr. Durante heading up the stairs. Thank you Mr. Foxx. God rest your soul. You too, Mr. Durante.

It looks more modern then 1933. The big swing band was very popular in the 1940s.

Jimmy was one of a kind! Somewhere today I passed an article that mentioned his name, and I remembered as a child watching him perform "Inka Dinka Doo" on TV. Somehow even back then I knew he was a legend. Not bad for a man who left school after the eighth grade! THANKS for posting this.

Actually 1933 is a bit early. The band leader is Harry James so I would bet on 1944.

I hope so, he did the voice. He did a lot of cartoon voices. Good catch by the way.
@echoecho3108 Жыл бұрын
@@bubbaray575 Actually, that was Doug Young, doing his best impersonation of Jimmy Durante. And, a grand job he did, too! Other cartoon voices were based on, or referenced Durante, but it was Jimmy himself who did the speaking and singing voice of the narrator in the animated 'Frosty the Snowman', in the late 1960s.
