Jimmy left Memphis in 1985 for New York. This was his last appearance on the show dumping a bag of flour all over Lance. The entire 1985 season is available now at www.70s-tv.com

It was believable cause you were a kid. Just like you used to love cartoons and playing on the jungle gyms. It’s something you outgrow after childhood.

Most of the time Lance Russell, one of the best commentators ever, was untouchable. From what I've heard he wore rather expensive suits. To me, him and Gordon Solie were two of the best ever.

i saw that happen live on tv. good times.

Hart had accepted Vince's offer to go to the WWF. He was done and knew he was leaving almost immediately. He's said he considered letting Jarrett and Lawler know about his move, but was concerned that they'd retaliate against him. So Jimmy opted to go out with a bang - dumping a 5 lb bag of flour on Lance was just that.

This is scripted. He didn't just decide to do something to get suspended. That's a Kayfabe story.

And this is when the real 🔥left Memphis. Hart got "suspended" to join the WWF.

Thought he was in Georgia before he went to the WWE? Because they were both using the TBS studios when Ole had his new promotion and Hart just ended up on the other side at one point.
@gl69962 жыл бұрын
@@KeithFroehlich07 As far as I know, Hart left Memphis and went straight to the WWF. In fact, Hart's last match in Memphis he wasn't their. He had an imposter dressed like him because he'd already left the Memphis promotion.

Lance calling this the lowest thing ever is hilarious, since it's not even the lowest flour incident in Lance's career. Hector Gurrerro and the infamous flour-loaded pinata, which Hector got away with it!

Too bad it was only a 5 pound bag of flour!
@aaronlusanko63566 жыл бұрын
If it was any larger than a 5 pound bag of flour, Jimmy Hart might have had trouble holding the bag of flour!

something else the wrestlers did back then was "throw fire" into someones face....i always wondered exactly what that was....nobody knew...we just all said they threw fire in their face
@daveharris25682 жыл бұрын
They used what magicians used for decades, flash paper. It is a very thin chemically, treated piece of paper that, when lit, flares up and is consumed in a second or two. The fire lasts so short a time that no harm is done.

0:30 LOL. After that humiliation, Lance starts to put the mike in Jimmy's face, so the audience would not miss a word of the rant.

Whether it was intended thusly or not this was an ironic throwback to The NWA MidAmerica Gulas days when the flour dump was a classic plotline. Usually executed by Faces such as Jackie Fargo against Heel Managers such as Dr. Ken Ramey. MidAmerica was my jam back in the day. Where else would you not only see Tom "The Assassin" Renesto as a Face Color Commentator (preceding Roddy Piper by five years) that such a Face would be bloodied beyond belief when a Heel Team attacked him with a Solid Wooden CocaCola Crate?!😉😂😯🎤🎼🎸📣🥤🤼♂️B.W.
