I like that the kitchen isn't huge, like the size of an average livingroom. Now a days you see video of people's kitchens and I'm like "how much space do you need". My whole working life I've worked in kitchens, and I have my associates in pastry, and I'll tell you, I like having everything close by, reaching difference or a step or two away. And a lot of these huge kitchens I see and I'm like "... I bet that never gets used" like they have big kitchens but never cook. Like it's an art installation "this piece is Kitchen... by DairyAir"

We have a pretty big kitchen, but my family uses every inch of it. About half the counter space is taken up by appliances. The other half is used when cooking or baking. Especially the baking. You need a lot of counter space when making your own dough for nut roll or other such dessert. But I recognize that my family are the odd man out. I think I only know like four other people who know how to bake.

@@MOsuna-xy8od Canned beans taste a little sour bc of the brine; I would rinse them a few times, and I'd puree them with vegetable broth or even water. I prefer dried beans, and you don't have to soak them overnight -- you can either soak them for a couple of hours, or you can skip the soak but you;ll need to cook them longer. Dried are cheaper, too -- about 1/3 the price of canned -- so I buy dried organic beans (about $2.50/lb vs $1/lb for non-organic).

We use the word "pastina" to refer to the type of pasta. Usually is cooked in meat broth and sometimes we add a creamy cheese (formaggino Mio) I don't know if that exist in US. Yum, I might try that for myself! Lol 😂 I know a mom who does that exact same thing with white beans, and adds them to her kids Mac and cheese! They have no idea. But they eat very healthy, so she adds much less cheese because of the creaminess of the beans. I’m not a Mac and cheese fan, at all, but this looks really good with the garlic and some fresh grated parm! I’m impressed Jimmy!! :)) 👍

Here’s another variant on Jimmy Kimmel's “Pasta Tina” - small pasta with a sauce made from blending a can of cannellini beans with their liquid. After I cooked and drained a pound of organic rigatoni and added the pasta to the puréed beans and thinly sliced garlic, my recipe calls for half of a 22-ounce jar of Basil Pesto from Costco, a handful of Pignoli nuts, Parmesan cheese and organic parsley.

In NYC this IS a mansion! Not kidding at all - about 10 years ago, I owned a 4,000 sq ft, 5 bedroom, 3 story house, with a walk out basement, a three car garage, a pond, and 1.5 acres, and my mortgage payment was less than my friend's little 2 bed apartment in the Bronx. I was in Michigan. Put that place there, or in San Diego, or LA and it would have been worth MILLIONS. If that property had been in Manhattan, I doubt that Kimmel could afford it.
