Kimmel, Fallon, Meyers and Colbert all need to be together for a show... two hours, just those 4 and let them talk it out! They can each have their own monologue, then sit together and just crack everyone up! I remember growing up watching Carson, and only him. Now we have 4 great hosts that I have to record each night. They all have their own style, comedy and bits... love all four of them!

It is great that there is this amazing camaraderie between all the current late-night hosts. They all have special qualities and as a Brit who has loved talk shows since Dick Cavett and Johnny Carson, you are very lucky to have such shows. We had the legendary Michael Parkinson and now Graham Norton is fantastic, but it’s once a week and for shorter seasons than you have. I also have to mention Conan, David Letterman who were brilliant and of course Craig Ferguson, who took talkshows to a new height of brilliance and wonderful silliness and comic stupidity! Craig was totally unique. And happy birthday Stephen!

​@@lindyb78 Yes, I agree and his karaoke segments were amazing. Although James is a ‘complicated person’ he is a giftted writer and stage performer. Gavin and Stacey, a hugely popular show in the UK was just brilliant which he co-wrote with a friend, Ruth Jones.

May be hard for the younger folk to believe, but back in the Carson era, if a guest came on the show to plug a new TV show that wasn't on NBC, they could never even mention the network it was on. Carson would say something like, "So your new sitcom will start next fall on Thursdays at 8 o'clock on 'another network'."

@@jeepliving1 Yes, I rember that and thanks to youtube you can see many of them. And on the BBC it used to be hard to plug a book, although now the rules are a little more relaxed with TV or movies. I can remember so many programs with Michael Parkinson where he would just get on interesting guests and they would chat. Some of the greatest were Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, James Stewart, Orson Welles and Jacob Bronowski, although in this case they did talk about his extraordinary series, The Ascent of Man.

Sadly true. There is a size point where the various pattern pieces won't lay in the same configuration on the fabric, and the next most efficient pattern lay takes a significant amount more material. Do we penalise the tiny folk because others need 50% more fabric, or do we penalise the larger folk? It's an awful connundrum. (from me, a garment maker, battling to make standard pricing for all my ranges).
