While this Jimmy Neutron reboot doesn't come from Nickelodeon themselves, it could work as a starting point for an actual show in the future. While i do prefer 2d animation over 3d animation i agree it wouldn't feel right for a jimmy neutron reboot to be 2d as i always felt like the 3d animation was part of the original show identity and is what made it stand out from other nicktoons at the time.

Sure, the early 2000's cgi is part of what made the show so unique, but the short and these designs look really good, especially Goddard. I love all the subtle details. I think it could work as a full series.

I wouldn't mind Jimmy coming back in that style and retcon that Planet Sheen show from existence. I did like how the Jimmy/Timmy Power Hour Trilogy swapped both 2D and 3D animation styles to see what they would be like. I wouldn't mind Jimmy getting an anime style look down the line.

Definitely gives it that late 2000s cartoon feel, lookin' all Flash and stuff. The CGI in the original show is more in line with that janky 1990s "look, CGI is so cool!" vibe, along with shows from Mainframe Entertainment.

FUN FACT: We almost had a Jimmy Neutron reboot a few years ago! The cast was all in and ready, most of the executives were on board. Except for one executive. That's all it took for the reboot to be shot down.

It's amazing how this reboot, despite ticking all the boxes of those simpler and watered down reboots made for other shows, actually has the opposite effect on its fandom - people actually really like it! Since it remakes scenes from the original, the great writing and voice acting is kept, which is a huge part of why people loved the original; and while the artstyle is vastly different (and, well, down by one whole dimension) and what some could even assume to be "simpler"... the good and appealing redesigns, the expressive animations, and the amount of detail throughout the whole thing makes it all work very well - people can see that a lot of care was put in this artstyle, and it wasn't just made for the sake of being easier and cheaper to animate.

I know nick would never do it but my ideal jimmy neutron reboot would be for it to have a slightly more serious tone, it will start off with lighthearted stand alone episodes but as it goes on it becomes more serious and have bigger focus on story arcs. I would also would love the reboot to add more depth to the characters and have them develop as people as the show goes on. But that's just me.
