can confirm country dancing is still mandatory in most scottish primary and high schools, i left high school in 2010 and it still happens in most schools today as part of P.E.

I love the music of Jimmy Shand's band and have danced the military two-step in Killowen hall many times in my youth. I would have liked to see more of the feet and the steps which I have long since forgotten. I enjoyed the video never-the-less.

Highlight of the week in the 60's was either The White Heather Club or a selection of Scottish Tunes after the Radio Scotland News on a a Saturday Evening. Who remem bers that?

From Canada, 2022: I hope this style of.dancing is being passed on to the younger generation of Scots. Alas, here, what used to be taught in the schools and a part of every country dance 50 years ago, seems to be going extinct.

When I was a child I used to suffer bad headaches. The Doctors found out that it was because of my Dad constantly playing the music of Jimmy Shand. After I left home to work away my headaches disappeared.
